Larry the Cable Guy Health Inspector, the jokes were thought provoking and the acting was excellent.[/sarcasm]

Honestly though definitely Anchorman. It may not be the smartest comedy but Will Ferrel is hilarious when he does all of his line with a straight face. I saw it then like five month's later everyone in my school starts quoting it,it was odd though it did liven up our morning announcements with stupid references. SpaceBalls/the Producers come in a close second for being great Mel Brooks movies.

As for show, I used to watch Nick Arcade just to see the host Phil Moore do goofy things. Mostly watch Family guy and South Park anymore.

Shame on me then, I guess.
They did some great comedic works, sure.
But they didn't only have hits, they also had a lot of misses, at least in my opinion.
Now, if you said, say, Life of Brian or Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I could agree with you. But not everything they did was as great as these examples.

The Big Bang Theory
You are not human! I was made to suffer through an entire episode of that monstrosity a couple of months ago and I never laughed, not even smiled slightly. There was nothing funny in it at all!

Why does everybody forget the Spanish Inquisition?

If we're talking films, it's probably Holy Grail or Hot Fuzz
TV, Black Books, Blackadder, or Monty Python.

Oh look, all my preferences are British. IMO, we do comedy better than the Americans. Just saying

I guess I didn't specify whether it had to be movie or tv show, but whatever. As far as Tv shows go:
Arrested Development
Flight of the Conchords
Monty Python's Flying Circus

And to whomever it was who asked, yes I am a Neutral Milk Hotel fan.

Big Bang Theory is pretty funny. As for movies, there are too many to list. I saw Paul Blart Mall Cop a little while a ago and loved it.
