I pretty much carved my way through the game with my Bastard Sword, which I upgraded all the way to +10 and gave it a fire enchantment. It's literally perfect,using other weapons just feels... off.

For my melee focused character, I'm really enjoying the Mastodon Greatsword though she also spent a lot of time with the Drangleic sword. My cleric character ended up sticking with the mace for the entire run. I wanted them to graduate to a different hammer style weapon (being a cleric and all) at some point, but I just never found one I liked at all.
All that said, I haven't come across a single weapon that has really wowed me yet so I wouldn't say I have a particular favourite. The twinblades are pretty awesome looking though so I'll probably try them out along with the caestus and claws on my next character.
