Favorite Disney movie?

Friggin Dumbo, man. I used to watch it once a day when I was younger.

When I was a kid I just liked the circus stuff and the crows.

Now when I watch it I always find it interesting that the main character doesn't talk and the sequences are incredible while the circus stuff and the crows are every bit as great as I remember.

You will believe an elephant can fly.

Second place goes to Beauty and the Beast.

On the non-cartoon front, Captain America because Captain America and dieselpunk Nazis. DIESELPUNK. NAZIS.

Probably a tie between Aladdin and Robin Hood.

But honestly there's way to much good Disney shit for me to properly make a choice.

Lilo and Stitch. In part because it's such a subversion of Disney and cartoon tropes in general: the cute, fluffy character who would normally be the sidekick is smarter, stronger, and tougher than any of the other characters and has a distinctively mean and destructive streak (which he ultimately rallies to the side of good.)

It's also heartwarming, has a lot of good lines, and doesn't try to force-feed a musical where one doesn't belong.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire is probably the one which has held up the best as the years have passed, but that's probably because it has always been the darkest as well

Possibly Tron Legacy, for the aesthetics and music if nothing else. I didn't even notice it was Disney until the later parts, which means it wasn't so hammy I immediately caught on. Although to be fair I haven't seen most of them since I was little and have discounted them because when I was little I didn't know good from bad. I remember Mulan being good though, even as a slightly larger person, and Atlantis.

Aladdin probably. Good memories of the first time I saw it kind of give it a more positive reflection for me than it really deserves on it's own merits though. Tron, the original. It's just so cheesy... but I was just a kid when it released and I loved it.

Naa, the Watcher in the Woods. Watched it when I was 8 or 9. I had seen "horror" movies before that. Buckets of corn suryp don't really frighten me. Then I saw "Disney's" Watcher in the Woods. Supernatural and the unknown, an occult ritual, blind child ghostly figures, images and symbols, backwards writing and speaking, and a creepy posessed little girl... was not ready. And "Watcher" is now my favorite answer to a friend or relative's kid yelling "I wanna watch a Disney movie."

I think I'm going to have to go with The Lion King, just because it was the first film I ever went to see in the cinema and I've always loved it.

I was never really into the Disney princesses when I was a kid so all of my favourites are the ones with animals as the main characters. Bambi, The Jungle Book, The Fox and the Hound, 101 Dalmations, I could go on for a while.

Leaving aside the Marvel movies. Up for the Pixar side of things, the 1st 5 minute silent montage.... heart breaker.

Something from the left field a little bit, 13th warrior.. Vikings and daring do. Very un-disney.

Hands down my favorite one is Jungle book.

When I was little I was a crazy hyperactive Demon child. My parents couldn't control me or get me to do what they wanted more than half the time. The only way they could get any reprieve was to pop that sucker in the VCR and press play. I would sit in front the tv and watch it from start to finish, then they would rewind it and I'd I watch it all over again.

It was like I was hypnotized

For my second birthday, my mom even made me a Ka (the snake) cake. It was awesome. If I find a picture, I'll post it here.

Cooool. You ever read the original Kipling stories? I always thought that Kaa made a much better ally than villain.

I haven't yet no. I did get a copy of it for my birthday though

I'll read it soon. When I have the time. I imagine it'll be different to say the least. I can't imagine what my impression would be like if this was disney's hercules instead xD

Fortunately I read the Greek myths first. Probably too young, but they were awesome reads so I don't care :3

Probably Lilo and Stitch, simply because it's so different from 90% of all other Disney movies. The only one it really fits in well with is The Emporer's New Groove. Also, I like how, throughout the entire movie, you can probably count - by hand - how many straight lines there are. It just gives off a completely different atmosphere from pretty much any other Disney film.

Frozen is very good, that's my favourite of the new Disney film, if were talking oldish, has to be Hercules. Danny DeVito man! There are way to many to distinctively say a favourite, but Hercules or the lion king for me. Oh and Peabody and Sherman was rather good as well.
