Oh wow, okay, this is a bit elaborate.
I dreamt I was Richard Dreyfuss from Strange Encounters of the Third Kind, right? I'm making the mashed potato mountain and my family thinks I'm nuts. I'm sitting around waiting for the aliens to come and take me away. One day while I'm sitting by the road, a family of Native Americans pull up in a beat up old Volkswagon and in the passenger seat is a cat. The door opens without anyone opening it. I just stare at them and suddenly I know, these are the aliens. I walk up to the car and the cat is just staring at me. Somehow, I realize we're having an argument about whose going to sit in the front seat except I'm not speaking and I'm not even thinking, the cat is just communicating with some other part of me that I don't even get yet. Without saying a word, I realize that one of the Indians tells the cat to knock it off and let me sit down.
So we start driving. And no one is talking but I can feel all these things being communicated and ideas exchanged. Like I'm just feeling them instead of having to say it. And one of the aliens explains that we're about to launch into an extra dimension and once we go there my brain will no longer be biologically recording memories. I'll be lucid and active there, but I won't remember what happens. And as they're saying this, we're about to enter this forest on the road (I've been in the car as they drive for a while) and suddenly time just freezes. The leaves go from green to orange, to red, to falling, then gone. And I'm perceiving this huge amount of time shifting but it all feels like a single second has gone by.
Then suddenly I'm in the Nevada desert outside of Las Vegas. I'm coughing, I've got a huge beard, and I have no memory except for the forest leaves fading away. All I remember is that something incredibly awesome happened and I feel like a million bucks. I woke up just as I was starting to walk towards Las Vegas and start trying to figure out a way home.
Best f***ing dream I've ever had.
