Clone High, Firefly, and Undergrads
Oh man, especially undergrads. The ending was meant for a 2nd season, and there was just so much to be planned for the next.

On that note, I wanna also throw in Mission Hill. That show was just awesome, and it died so early.

I liked Firefly a lot but I didn't watch it on the air. I just knew that FOX would murder it like it murdered my favorite canceled show, Brimstone. Interesting concept, well acted, and had one of the best depictions of Satan I've ever seen. But noooooo....I'm never gonna get over Brimstone.

I really miss Rocko's Modern Life, Pirates of Dark Water Ren & Stimpy and Invader Zim too but the difference is that R&S and Zim are out on DVD, where as Nick shows no signs of ever releasing Rocko. When the creator was asked how he felt about bootlegs on the internet his reply was, "At least someone is giving Rocko fans what they want."

And since no one really cared about PoDW when it was on the air I'm not going to hold out hope for a DVD release.

That's my Bush! It was really funny back in 2001. Now it's funny but sad at the same time.
I really enjoyed that, its a shame so few people realised it wasn't just a joke about Bush, but a parody of all mediocre US sitcoms, and from that perspective, brilliantly done, even down to the cheerful neighbor who just walks in whenever the plot required him and the audience wolf whistles when any attractive woman appears on screen.

I'd have to put a vote in for 'Lucky Louie', I've only just seen the first and only series, and damn, its refreshing to see a sitcom which really doesn't hold back, it's probably way past South Park in terms of offensiveness, yet it never feels like it's trying to shock, it just feels like you're watching a real group of people. (who are seriously screwed up)

As a typical example, there's an episode based around Louie's 5 year old daughter being a brat, and throwing tantrums and generlly misbehaving and rebelling, and his wife says 'what's wrong?' and he goes 'Lucy's being a fucking asshole!'. Louie's worldview is that's he's trying to portray what most parents think, but know society won't let them actually say, that their wonderful special child, actually is damn annoying at times, sure he loves his kid, doesnt stop her being irritating as hell.

Now, the amazing thing is it doesn't feel 'shocking', just natural, and it's pretty amazing to see someone daring to criticise a small child, as they're seemingly held up in society to be beyond reproach, and you sure don't swear at a child on TV.

Just as a warning, it's a sitcom starring and written by Louis CK, so don't expect kittens and rainbows.

Ren and stimpy ad Rocko's modern life.
oy, ren and stimpy got... 6? seasons i think they aren't a failed tv show, just Nick took it down because of all the... adult themes (so says my uncle who helped animate/direct the show)

and onto my opinion, INVADER FUCKIN ZIM I LOVE YOU JHONAES VASQUEZ and firefly, but fucking joss whedon doesn't have any more original ideas, (female character who is grossly overpowered is in about all of his series[dollhouse, firefly, buffy, hmm i didn't watch jericko? was it any good?])

'Invader Zim'.

And, I'm not religious but 'The Book of Daniel' was actually funny. It was dropped pretty fast so I only got to see a couple episodes of it but I found the way it talked about religion to be hilarious. And the reverend and his dysfunctional family seemed so much more realistic to me. They weren't...goody-two-shoe zombie people.

Oh yeah, 'Dead Like Me'. That series was great.

'Weeds' was funny.

Live action of 'The Tick' was just freakin' hilarious.

I was just going to say "The Book of Daniel." It was an amazingly hilarious take on modern Christianity (Episcopalianism). It's a shame that a number of conservative Christians took so much offense to the show that NBC pulled it. The best part was that all the advertisers were so scared that their products would be boycotted, that I think I only saw two non-NBC ads during all four aired episodes.

I'm going to mimic a-lot of people who have already posted on here and say Invader Zim
One of the all time classics...
Although, when some people mention awesome shows that get canceled, was it better they get canceled so as to not go stale and remain loved?
Just wondering is all...

Everyone's said it too, but: Firefly. Also Clone High was bloody hillarious, if not for the whole problem with the portrayal of Ghandi I'm sure it would have gone on a long time.

Also, Dead Like Me. It only ran for two seasons before it was pulled but it was a really good show, they made a straight to DVD movie a while back but I haven't seen it anywhere :(
