Favorite Firefly episode.

My roommate and I have starkly different choices when it comes to which episodes of Firefly are our favorites. My favs are "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and "War Stories", while his favs are "Jaynestown" and "Out of Gas", which are probably my least favs.

So, I'd like to ask the (mostly) Firefly-loving Escaspists what your favorite episodes are. I'd do a poll, but it seems I can only use eight options, and there are 14 episodes.

The movie, Serenity, doesn't count. I'm talking about the show.

'Out of Gas' is probably my favourite. I love seeing how everyone came to the ship and that final bit where he collapses, awesome.

'Jaynestown' is brilliant as well, funny and tragic at the same time.

Saying that, I love all the episodes and the film.

Another for Jaynestown and Out of Gas. I guess I rate them because of the development of Jayne and Mal who I like as characters.

Our Mrs Reynolds was good, but then so is the other one with Saff-Yo-Bridge... Yeah, I kinda fancied her after seeing those episodes, but Jaynestown was brilliant too - "The Hero of Canton, the Man they call Jayne..."

Any episode of Firefly is great, of course, so this thread is kind of pointless because it's trying to rank something so awesome it can't possibly be ranked in any meaningful way.

I can't really rank them, they're all just so great. But I guess if I was forced to choose I'd go with Jaynestown. Jayne is my favorite character with Mal a very close second.

I was going to try and answer this meaningfully, but thinking about it, the worst episode of Firefly is still awesome. It's like pizza and sex. Even when they're bad, they're still good. Although I can't honestly think of a bad episode.

Again, because this can't be said enough, I would be willing to go with Serenity as a fluke or a dream or whatever for a few more seasons of Firefly. There was so much possibility for depth and development in that show.

Also, in the episode "Trash", if you watch closely, you can see an SR-71 Blackbird. I always get a kick out of that. And it's the Yo-Saff-Bridge episode.

Probably "Ariel", the one where they rob the hospital. The plot was very interesting -

It developed River's backstory further and introduced the sinister blue-gloved men O_O And Jayne's betrayal of River and Simon was very interesting as well

God, I miss that show. Screw Dollhouse, bring Firefly back dammit!

Both episodes were pretty unique, even for Firefly.

Wow. Kinda surprised with the popularity of Jaynestown.

Yeah, I can't say any of the episodes are BAD, I just thought, IMO, Jaynestown felt predictable once the second half of the episode got underway. I mean, once that guy who Jayne dumped out of the plane was introduced, I just kinda knew what was going to happen, and the rest of the episode wasn't that interesting to me.

It's a mix up between Arial, Serenity (The Pilot) and War Stories for me. Though to be honest I like all of the episodes, so I could easily add several others to that list.
