Nowadays with francises, it seems like people in the entertainment industry sometimes have a tendency to truly ruin something when that something in their hands. That I know has ticked off many fans.

Have any of your favorite francises ever been pooed on by anyone? by either fellow 'fans' (if one can called them that if they screwed over your favorite francises) or by someone from a specific part of the entertainment industry.

You know, the kind that probubly asked for copyright of a francise only to go through afew cliffnotes and hope they can get as much money as they can on it?

I've got a fair share of my favorite francises that I think have been F***ed up.

Pucca: okay, no one in the entertainment industry I know of has S***ed on Pucca, but they did seem to stop updating it for god knows how long. But some so-self-called 'fans', I think, are mainly guilty, I've seen some Pucca fanfics that were portrayed and tragic and angsty, and if, like me, you're truely a fan of Pucca, you'd probubly ask yourself: "How can you have tragic angst when you're Pucca, a girl who wears a mickey mouse hairdo and solves problems in a cartoonly matter?"

A Series Of Unfortunate Events: that guy who did that movie starring Jim Carrey, I think he only haphazardly read what was one of my favorite book series. It had some of the elements done well, it's not that good a representation of the book series, but as movie alone it's kinda alright. But they honestly sems to mock the francise moreso than represent it, like the director secretly intended to make a parody of the series or something.

Eragon: okay, the filmmakers in a heartbeat are easily just going through the cliffnotes in making a movie based on Eragon, one of my favorite books. even the author was outraged, I even heard Christopher Paolini plans on directing his own film version of his book, if that's true, then I'd like to see Eragon done right put into film.

KotOR.
Sure, The Old Republic will be good, but it won't be nearly as good as a KotOR 3 (A non MMORPG) would be.

Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot. Both had 3 great games on the PS, now both have several shitty games on the PS2.

Dynasty Warriors

:(

I loved those games so much, but they just kept releasing the same old recycled trash without adding anything new.

Spyro and Crash Bandicoot are 2 big ones too.

Let's face it, the second one ruined it long before the mmorpg could.

Mega Man X. X5 was intended to be the conclusion of the series, something that's made pretty obvious throughout the game's narrative. It was a very satisfying ending to a very satisfying saga, and that should have been enough. But, of course, Capcom had other plans.

As far as I'm concerned, X5 was the last game in the series. X6, X7 and X8 don't exist.

The 'His Dark Materials' series of books by Philip Pullman which was absolutely betrayed by the movie version of the first volume, 'The Golden Compass'. They put huge sums of money into the CGI, hired an a-lister cast and managed to completely screw it up. Pretty much the only part they got right was the bear fight.

I'm still annoyed and refuse to get over it.
EDIT: Ok, their vision of the alternate-universe was pretty good in parts. But almost everything else was screwed up.

Call of Duty. The first two were great, and now they decided to go mainstream. I probably sound like a douchebag for saying that, but now they're catering to a larger audience and lost all that was fun about them. The spark went out, you could say.

Speaking of groin shots: The Fallout franchise, FO3 is nothing like the two first.

Silent Hill (past the third installment) and the Lunar series (excluding the PSP remake).

Star Wars... George Lucas. What an asshole.
Indiana Jones. See above.
Deus Ex. WTF were they thinking?
Fallout 3. See above.
MGS4, story wise. I'd like to punch Kojima for most of the animations in the game.

Isn't that what has been said for EVERY sonic game that has come out. By now, I am too cynical to think it will.

that is also true. but tbh..i never really liked the 3D sonic games that much. So this new 2D one i ACTUALLY have hopes for. the others, i wished it would turn out ok, but never expected it, and rightfully so cause they all kinda sucked in some way or another. I am genuinely stoked over the new one, truly and honestly.

The book series A Song Of Ice and Fire: It has not been screwed up yet, but the quality of the fourth book, A Feast For Crows, was not up to par with the other three.
