OT: When I finally beat Silver Surfer. It is the hardest game I've ever played. Ever. The amount of satisfaction I gained from it was mind blowing.

I like ocarina of time fight vs dark link. Also i loved the end of assassins creed, and when you confront that bad guy at the end of mass effect.

One moment that really scared me was in Fear Extraction Point when holiday died. It had been pretty tame until that point but then, oh god all that blood, and they just tossed him into the walls and, oh god that scared me.

More like a freaking let down. That ship was a total pain to beat.

The screen at the end of Doom2 was pretty awesome. But I am going to cast my vote for using Diddy Kong's jetpack in DK64 for the first time.

Sonic and Knuckles- Doomsday Zone. Epic finality at its finest.
Super Mario RPG- the wedding scene. Years later it's still hilarious.
Final Fantasy VI- the death train scene. I think this scene got me the most in that game.
Starfox 64- derailing the Macbeth train. So quotable.
Braid- the ending sequence. I have NEVER come across anything in a game that was that clever and profound.
Alien vs. Predator 2- the beginning of the alien campaign. You eat your way out of a guy's chest!
God of War- the hydra boss. Pure epic violence.
Shadow of the Colossus- the 17th colossus. You know that it can't end well...and it doesn't.
Final Fantasy X- the ending. The closest a game has ever come to making me cry.
World of Warcraft- killing any major raid boss. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

Achievement Whore is a common phrase, and I think Escapists can handle a little salty language.

Shadow of the colossus: The 13th colossus, the music is tame, slow and ethereal as you ride Agro around and fire arrows at the giant sand snake, and then when it lowers its wings, you pull alongside it, ride with it to keep it going straight, and then you leap, and the music stops ...


... and you land on the wing, the music kicks in. Brilliant

My favourite moment in a video game was the first time I played through the most important scene in my favourite game:
