Red Chocobos from Final Fantasy Tactics. Unless they're fighting against me, then they're the greatest evil on the planet. Them and their Choco Meteor.
GOD DAMMIT did I want to break my PSP every time those things nuked my mages. No other random enemy I have encountered thus far has been such a pain as the red chocobo.

But yea, Chocobo is my favorite. Giant ostrich canary bird, whats there not to love.

Well Murry the Skull... You could argue that he is not a bird, but he does sit on top of a railing the middle of a swamp.

Seagulls in Half Life 2, contrarily, are invincible.

King Dedede! Sure he doesn't fly around (with his wings) but he's still a bird (and an extremely likeable one).

Idea for next thread: Most hated video game dogs (Hurray for Duck Hunt!)

Gotta be the owl from LoZ:OOT. Come on, his freakin head was spinning all the time and the music when you talked to him...or when he just talked, was amazing.

A nazgul, from The Lord of the Rings.
it's called a fellbeast
It's not even called that. Except by the people who made the movies, and who didn't understand the dialogue in the book. Eowyn calls one "fell beast", two words, and it's a description, not a name. ("fell" has a now little used adjective form, which means "of an especially cruel or inhuman nature").

We're never told their names.
They are referred to in the books as "a fell beast from ancient times" or something like that. Thus we call them Fellbeasts.

It's just like how the first Nazgul was never called the Witch-King of Angmar in the books but he was a Witch, and a King who ruled Angmar.

There's also an official Tolkien encyclopedia (that predates the movies) written by Christopher Tolkien based on his fathers notes, it says those are what Tolkien called those entities.

Kazooie, from Banjo Kazooie. I mean come on, sparks fly whenever she speaks. Plus the "babababa" that spews from her mouth when the dialogue appears on screen is pretty funny.

Also, Kaepora Gabora is indeed, awesome.

Thought of some more - the Crow Tengu and whatever the white female birds were called in Okami, and also Lechku & Nechku, the big mechanical owls you fight towards the end of the game.

The birds from the Oddworld series, since they respawn you in the first two games and always help you free mudokon slaves and fuzzles. They also help you teleport.

Im shocked that no one mentioned the crows in MGS. you start killing them, and you piss off Raven, right before you fight him the second time.

I want a banana bird as seen in DKC 3...
and if I grow tired of it I'll eat it
And I'm sure it won't taste like chicken.

I Also like necky (the vulture boss from DKC)
