As I just got System Shock 2, I'm hoping that.
Aside from that... not a clue, actually. Mass effect 3?
Wait, just got System Shock 2 ? Is there a new release, maybe that works with vista and 7.

Well Diablo 3 and Borderlands 2 aren't out yet, so I can't say those.

Also I didn't play Mass Effect 3, so that's obviously out.

Journey, I love that game, and it's the best $15 I've spent in a long time.

So far despite it's problems it is Mass Effect 3 for me.

Still waiting for Guild Wars 2, Bioshock Infinite and newly announced Baldur's Gate ED.

Not counting iOS titles (there's actually been a LOT of great ones so far this year. Monster Flip, Coco Loco, Adventure Bar Story, Ragdoll Blaster 3, I'll stop...)

But so far I've actually only bought 2 video games this year. PokePark 2 and Devil Survivor 2. Both are a lot of fun, but for different reasons. But so far I would say based on the amount of fun I'm having, I have to give it to PokePark 2.

...I'm sure about 90% of the people reading this have already rolled their eyes and are choosing to ignore my opinion, but that's where I stand right now.

For other games I tend to buy this year, my game of the year will probably either be Lollipop Chainsaw, Bioshock: Infinite or Persona 4: Arena.

out of the releases so far this year i have to go with Silent Hill Downpour..IMO there's finally another game worthy of being called Silent Hill. I know YMMV but so far it's delightfully creepy and paranoia-inducing (especially with a surround sound headset XD) and my plans for this weekend involve putting a blackout curtain over my window so no light gets in and playing it until my eyes bleed..

I believe there is a workaround for that. Also System Shock 2 is my favorite game of the forever.
OT: I'm still playing through all the games from the steam holiday sale, so haven't played any new games yet. Looking forward to Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 though.

Borderlands 2 - I can't remember the last time I was actually looking forward to a game coming out.

So far no games have been released this year that I would consider even remotely worth my time, this years is looking to be just as devoid of games I like as last year.
On the plus side it seem to be a great year for books so my money will still leave my pockets

SWTOR - technically it was released last year but I believe for all award intents and purposes it is a 2012 game. Fantastic game worthy of many many hours playtime.

Of course it's also the ONLY 2012 game I've played this year. I'll eventually pick up Mass Effect 3 and Diablo 3. Of those games only Diablo 3 likely has a chance of taking the throne. The beta rocks since patch 13 and I can't wait for it's full release!

Favorite games released in 2012? It's only mid-March, but ok. These are all just anticipation, really.

The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition (hurray for free PC updates! Yay, CDPR!)
Risen 2
Dragon's Dogma

The Last Guardian (well, maybe...fingers crossed)

Well I have only bought a few but The Last Story easily takes it so far while it didnt impress me as much as Xenoblade Chronicles last year it is a solid and highly enjoyable game and IMO Hironobo Sakaguchis best game (as director).

Mass Effect 3 will be hard to beat, 10 minute of meh at the end doesn't ruin a fantasic game, and I've becomes addicted to the multi player, ChargeNovaChargeNovaChargeNova

I got that little I Am Alive game on XBLA, and it was pretty good. For $15, it was a frickin' steal.

Fun, post-apocalyptic, survival game without zombies or mutants.

Mass Effect 3 of course. I'm greatly enjoying the story and multiplayer. The multiplayer actually feels relevant to the game, and I can see myself playing it with friends even after I have beat the single player.

Oh Vanguards! You guys really piss off my friend and I. There was one player that my friend and I encountered in a couple games and he kept taking all of my friend's and some of my kills. The guy ended each game with almost triple the score of my friend, and it wasn't because my friend wasn't trying or doing good. The guy was literally taking almost 3/4ths of the kills.

We got really tired of it, so we intentionally didn't revive him if he got knocked out. We were easily able to hold our own without him, so it wasn't a problem to let him die.

Right now, it's definitely Mass Effect 3. Yes, we know, the ending was bad, but that doesn't nullify the other 99% of the game was so incredibly well done! Not only my favorite game of the year so far, but one of the best games of this gen as well.

Journey is a very, very close second. Best indie game I've ever played.

Mass Effect 3, without a doubt. I didn't love the ending but neither did it leave me wanting to murder Bioware employees and spread their entrails in the carpark as a warning to future developers. The game itself was fun to play, in places it was genuinely emotional and moving so yeah, I can forgive the ending being a bit... meh.

So yes, for me, Mass Effect 3 is the best game of this year - so far.

Favorite full game - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I wish that crafting system was in Skyrim, the art style is vibrant and pretty, I love the exotic weapons (read: chakrams and faeblades), no strong main theme, but the music is nevertheless exceptional... there's a LOT to love.

Favorite not full game - TERA beta. I'm more psyched for TERA than I am for any other game this year. Okay, the questing was... not the best. Entirely too many fetch quests for my liking, but this IS an Asian - Korean, if memory serves - MMO, so I guess it's just part and parcel. At least when you look to collect zebra legs, you loot 4 legs off every zebra, so that's an improvement over some WoW creatures apparently not having heads.
That said, virtually everything else was insanely awesome. Action combat is at the core of the game, and ye gods, is it amazing. Bosses actually look like bosses, and even normal enemies look intimidating to newbie players. Other MMOs might start you out on sickly wolves, but TERA starts you out on ents.
Yeah, I'm gushing. I said I'm more psyched for TERA than any other game, and I meant it.

Captcha: shaken not stirred. I like this new not-captcha captcha, it doesn't make me type gibberish.
