This sucks, because I kinda wanted to place a poll in this post, but I screwed up. Oh well, moving on...

It's exactly what it says in the title: What is your favorite gamepad to play w/?
Mine would be the Saturn pad (preferably the American release one 'cuz I like the glossy super-awesome-shaped d-pad) for 2D and fighting games, and I really like the Duke (Xbox's original controller) for everything else. The 360 controller is awesome all around if it weren't for that wanky d-pad. I'll use an arcade stick whenever possible, though.

EDIT: Sorry if it's been done before, but I searched and I didn't find anything.

The 360 controller is excellent.

However, I think the award will have to go towards the Logitech wireless PS2 controller. That thing kicked so much ass when I got it.

Gamecube,
I would have said 360 but after prolonged use I found triggers shouldn't be used for everything

Love the Gamecube controller. Looked so strange, but the button layout was perfect, and the triggers were awesome.

I also love the Wiimote. The pointer is great for shooting and selecting menu items, and though it's kind of gimmicky, using movements to control games is really fun, in my opinion.

I have to join the 360 and Gamecube party. They just cradled your hands so nicely.

I'm a little surprised that someone hasn't said the Dreamcast controller. I loved the triggers and control stick on that. The stick never slipped out of control for me. It was sweet. And having the VMU screen was a little tacked on, and I think it wasn't utilized enough, but it was pretty cool having a screen on your gamepad.

EDIT: That's why I really like the Duke, it was a more refined Dreamcast pad.

The old Logitech wireless controller for PS2. And the 360 controller is the closest thing to it that I've found since.

I'm going with the Dual Shocks, mainly because I've become so used to them. But I do like the 360's for the weight and shape.

How could people like the Xbox controller? It's massive! I'd go with either the Gamecube or 360 controller.

On a side note: the Wiimote sucks.

The 360 controller fits my hands a bit better but I find that the DS3 has a better dpad and start/select/dashboard button placement. It would be good to just cross the two and call it a day.

GameCube controller; it feels so organically right, even if it looks awkward at first.
Ugh, if there is one thing I can't stand, it's the gamecube controller.
