Gaming peripherals have been around ever since video games began. They started off simple, like SNES Blaster, but today, they're some of the most carefully crafted video game enhancers to date.

A peripheral is ANY physical add on that enhances or alters your video gaming experience.

Well my keyboard and mouse are pretty useful, do they count?

If not my Logitech game pad is pretty damn useful for racing games and some 3rd person action like prince of Persia, even though it is like 5 years old

i always loved the guns you could point at the telly and play time crisis on...awww, they were the days. not fond of the wii tho cos im not prpared to spend £180 on rail-shooters (which is all the motion sensing games i would play)

Things like FPS or MMo is a mouse/keyboard must..

use my logitech gamepad only for Console type games like NHL, or the CAPCOM games like DMC or resident evil series, fighting games too.
Sounds odd but i cant drive with the gamepad.. doing it 100 times better with a keyboard :/

OP mentioned physical but in WoW, addons to my UI like DBM, healbot and pally power are super SUPER useful. Way more helpful than speshul "gaming" hardware.

Also, the Nintendo Blaster. No other light gun feels as good as this one.

That graphical thingy that slotted into the top of the N64. Never even noticed it, until I bought Majora's without knowing I needed one to play it. REALLY pissed me off. Got one. Changed me completely. I really, really looked forward to that game!

EDIT: Definitely not a fanboy but the 360 pad feels so right.

The good old Guitar Hero 2 Xbox 360 controller. The buttons are the easiers to slide on HO/POs, does not need batteries, chord is long, and is the perfect weight.
