What's your favorite genre to read? What makes you love it so much? If there was a definitive book that got you into the genre, what was it?
I am a sucker for fantasy books. Anything involving Tolkien-esque settings and characters is a win in my book. This genre is really easy for me to slip into and lose myself in the story. It's fairly common for me to read one of those books for hours on end and think nothing of it. There's just something about the epic setting, the magic, and the wonder of a world completely (usually) different from our own that keeps me coming back for more.
The books that really got me into that genre would either be The Hobbit or the Chronicles of Narina. I don't know exactly which because I read them both at about the same time and had seen the Hobbit cartoon movie and the PBS versions of Narnia long before I read them.
