The World Ends With You. I would totally replay it again from the start, if I hadn't already collected about 97% of the pins. Love everything about the game.

2nd best would probably be the Kingdom Hearts series, but I just don't know which one. I want to say Birth By Sleep, but I like the other games a lot too...

3rd I guess would be probably be Valkyria Chronicles(would that count as a JRPG?), but I'm not done with the game yet, so I'll probably say Nier. Such a depressing game, I love it. Now if it was only refined in a lot of other places, I would love it even more. Love the music here too.

4th might as well be one of the Persona games, probably 4. Persona 3 FES was my first game in the Persona/SMT franchise. And yes, it was good, but 4 was just so much better.

5th and final place is FFXIII I guess. Liked everything except for the side characters and the plot feeling a bit wierd near the end. Though I felt like it was missing some UMPH to make it really special.

Earthbound. Seriously, those designers should have their own school which every prospective developer should be required to attend before making a game. That my friends, is how you make a world interesting.

Golden Sun is the only JRPG series I have ever completed. Actually, they might be the only games too... JRPGs are long, man. I've gotten to the second disk of Baten Kaitos 1 twice, and probably halfway through (as an estimate) of Dragon Quest VI. Those were pretty fun. GS stands to be one of my favorite game series of all time.

I need to get Tales of Symphonia and Valkiria Chronicles, don't I?

I would go with the first two Shadow Hearts games for PS2, Shadow Hearts and SH: Covenant. You may not of heard of them, but they were amazing games. Great story, interesting characters, combat is a lot of fun, just all around good games.

The first one I ever played is still my favorite:
Final Fantasy III (American Numbering)

and with the Super Mario RPG following VERY closely afterwards. Loved Geno when I was younger, but nowadays I think Mallow is my favorite character in any game ever.

NieR, mostly because that is the only real JRPG I've ever played. I still enjoyed it immensely though, much more than some of the other games on my PS3 *looks disapprovingly at ME2*

Shining Force for the Sega Genesis.

My first JRPG, and nostalgia goggles are thick.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is good as well.

I will always love the Persona series! Final Fantasy is also a great series. I recently started playing Trails in the Sky which is a great classic style JRPG as well.

I never really got into any other jrpg's after the age of around twelve. I never really thought about it beyond possibly the voice acting in some of them. I always preferred text based jrpgs because I always liked the stupid voices I gave the characters in my head much better. But if I could pick a favorite I would go for the patapon series. It had a fun premise backed up by deep rpg mechanics and plenty to do after you finished each game.

I'd never heard of Persona until they mentioned it in Extra Credits, and ever since then everyone who mentions it raves about how awesome it is. I've got to try this thing out.

It is fantastic! I'd get Persona 3 personally! You can get it on PSP or PS2 I believe. If you like character driven stories and creative and thought provoking worlds you will get into it!

I'm gonna go with:

Persona 3 and Persona 4-these are some of the greatest games I have ever played. Period. Amazing atmosphere and deep combat system. The stories too. holy crap. I want Persona 5.

Chrono Trigger-Obvious reasons. I just played this a year ago and it was fantastic.

Final Fantasy VII-Cliche I know, but it is the only final fantasy that I have finished so far. I enjoyed it, and I played it for the first time a few months ago. Good game.

Pokemon-I'm counting this because I can. Pokemon is what got me into rpgs, and I still enjoy playing it. Probably because of nostalgia.

The World Ends With You-Unique and fun. Interesting gameplay.

Listing these has made me realize that I haven't finished many jrpgs.....I guess I'm not a huge fan of them, but I do like a handful.

edit: ^^^to the poster above me. do yourself a favor, and buy persona 3 or 4. At least look them up first. Fantastic.
