I yust started playing LoL again and i myself likes to play Garen, my favorite part about Garen is that he doesnt use mana wich is what i hate about most characters, also his skills have a really short cooldown. He is really bad against ranged characters tho.

so what is your favorite champion and do you have any tips for a rather new player?

Pantheon, nothing funner.

But seriously, do you spell check before posting or even re-read?

It's spelled Legends, not Ledgends.

I have quite a few favorites now, Leona, Ashe, Sona, Xin, Garen, Jarman ect ect.

Tips for a new player;
Buy Wards
Don't overextend (this comes with experience)
Learn at least 1 ranged AD carry, 1 AP mage/carry/support, 1 tank, 1 jungler, and 1 melee of choice (helps you understand the many playstyles as well as giving you a larger pool of champs to play with
Free champs can be fun

and more I cant remember right now

I'm going to go ahead and put down Faceless Void or Mirana Nightshade from DotA because this site has an acute dearth of DotA fans.

MORDE!

(thats Mordekaiser to everyone who doesn't play LoL)

He's like Garen but has his own shield, arguably one of the best ults in the game (awesome health-drain-curse-turn-into-ghost-follower thing) and, with a good build, I once killed all the other teams' heroes on my own (1v4) simply by barely taking any damage because of the shield and doing crazy damage with my abilities.

Jax by far. He's in a weird place right now, but I always have fun leaping over the entire team fight just to finish off a fleeing support or carry. After that, Veigar, because one-shotting the enemy mages never gets old.

Its a tie between Nasus, Annie and Zilean.

I like Nasus because he is one of the few tanky champions who can still max out a decent amount of damage per game just by getting Exp and gold like a good champion should.

Annie has amazing damage dealing abilities, even with very little AP and her stun is amazing!

Zilean is just plain awesome....that's all I need to say. Seriously, he does great damage, has to be killed twice if he has his ult up and has one of the most powerful slows/speed ups in the game.

I haven't played LoL in a while but I really enjoyed playing as Blitzcrank, Singed, Corki and Swain. But I only found Singed and Blitzcrank fun to play when I used them as DPS, I've never liked tanking.

Nidalee, Anivia, Swain, Cho, Kog, and Blitz come to mind. I play through a rotation of many more characters though.

Tips:
Biggest tip: Don't auto-attack minions. You want to last hit them (hit them when you can kill them with one attack). Auto-attacking leads to pushing (advancing towards their tower) and pushing when you don't have the ability to do significant damage to the tower leads to either unnecessary over extension or lost experience.

Map awareness is everyones problem. Do your best to make your allies aware of whats going on without being overbearing and do your best to make sure you know whats going on. Calling mias helps the team, but don't blame them if they forget to call it as it was your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings.

Wards are good for map awareness, use them.

Don't bother with runes until you hit Lvl 20 Summoner level its a waste of IP.

Play each character that you can and learn as much as you can about every character even if you don't have much interest in playing them. Know your enemy. Granted you'll learn much of what you need to know through experience as well if you pay attention.

Knowing when you're overextending comes with experience, but I have one tip to try and help. Its obvious but the further you are from your turret the more at risk you are of being assaulted. If people are missing on the map you want to be within range to quickly retreat to a turret as you could be the target of a gank.

Play it safe rather than risk it for a kill if you aren't sure even though it will go against every instinct in your body. Under the right circumstances a player can get you from full health to dead while sitting at 1/10th of their health bar. A skilled player can get you and your laneing partner killed from full health with 1/10th of their health bar. So make dam sure you can get the kill.

In the few months I've been playing, my favorites would be Karma, one of the strongest supports in the game, and Brand, the original OP.

Nunu all the way. I was even stupid enough to pay money to get the nunu bot skin. I love playing nunu. But other champions I play include Malphite, Vayne, Miss Fortune, Teemo, and currently getting used to Fiddlesticks.

I love Kog'maw, he's so adorable, yet he's meant to look scary. His joke is hilarious,

and his dance is friggen Michigan RAG! (hello mah babeh! hello mah honeh! Hello mah ragtime gaaal!)

Plus spitting acid is always a plus, and I'm pretty good at his ult (long range vomit-mortar, not making that up.)

Other favorite include:

Malzahar
Nocturne
Cho'gath
Mordekaiser
Orianna

And I might main Skaarner when he comes out, depending on how he plays.

Oh and all the tips have been pretty much covered on here. Well I guess the one thing that I have to say is don't be afraid to expiriment with different builds, and always build depending on whats happening in the game. Even if you are playing a damage champion survivability isn't a terrible idea. For example if they have a team of all magic damage champions with a lot of stuns/snares buy a quicksilver sash. I love that item.

I loves me some Tryndamere, Gangplank and Fiddlesticks. Oh yeah and Malphite, and Veigar, and Annie, and Tristana (cos you can get her free) and Twisted Fate, and Poppy.

But I HATE Nunu and Evelynn, and hate playing against Singed.

Seriously screw singed...
