Favorite Levels

Since I got all that feedback in my impossible level/boss thread, I was just thinking and wondering now, what is everyone's favorite level in a video game? It could be just cause its fun to do, provides a challenge or just cause you like a certain part of it.

The one that sticks with me the most is the City Escape stage in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GC. It is usually everyone's first level when playing the game, the music is catching, and it's just so much fun to go through, especially if speed running or getting items for your Chao. I'm pretty sure I've gone through that level a few hundred times by now.

The Silent Cartographer from Halo:CE was basically an hour of giant, compressed fun. First time you got to use a rocket launcher on a Hunter, I believe.

Star Fox 64- Fortuna - Enter Star Wolf. ^^ Hope it counts because I replay that stage so many times. xD If not then I'd choose Zoness - Toxic Waste Area next. (the one with Kat.) ;D

I've always really loved the sequence in Half-Life 2 in Water Hazard where you're in the airboat speeding through the canals while a gunship is dropping mines on you. It was really exciting; probably the single sequence in a game that has made me feel the most like I'm the star of an action movie.

I also particularly liked the opening sequence on the tanker in Call of Duty 4 and, for some reason, the parking garage level in Max Payne.

The final stage in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. The evening sky is in the background and you're climbing a tower high into the sky, above the clouds. You're the strongest you can ever be in the game and the entire last area just screams epic. I loved that area more than any other in the game.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but I really liked the totally random Prince of Persia/Indiana Jones-ish section in Resident Evil 4. Yes it was stupid and had no place being there at all, but I really liked it. The mine cart... so epic.

Well, the best level I have ever played would still have to be this classic level:


Also, coincidentally a Sonic game. Though I haven't played many games that have levels in them. I am more an RPG kind of person, but I do play quite a few FPS games. Though I don't really consider the ones I've played being divided up into levels 9Deus Ex, HL, L4D, ETC).
