Tali is Tali, so adorable.

Joker and EDI ftw though.
Bonus for Tali lovers: When she summons her combat drone, she sometimes yells "Go for the optics, drone, go for the optics!"

Her drone is also called "Chikktika", which Aerie fans might remember as being the raccoon familiar of her gnomish god.

EDI and Joker are totally romancing. We'll call it AIShipping.

"I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees. *meaningful pause* That was a joke."

In general I like the ME2 cast a lot more than the ME1 cast. They all seem to have more in-depth and likeable personalities. I thought Garrus and Tali were "meh" in the first one but I grew to really like them in the second. And Mordin's loyalty missions was executed pretty well, IMO, doing a good job of representing his inner conflict over the genophage. I even like Jacob - he's just an all-around reliable and trustworthy guy. Kinda like Kaidan but with more personality. And story-wise his loyalty mission was interesting, even if its relevance to him personally seemed a little forced.

If I had to pick, I'd probably say Wrex from ME1 and Mordin, Tali, and Garrus from ME2. I'm still undecided as to whether to have my Engineer go for Tali and cheat on Liara or not. Maybe I should just make a fourth character...

Does anyone actually like Jacob?

I find him second only to Kaidan in the 'most boring companion' competition.
I actually like Kaidan and Jacob. They may not be the must interesting, but unlike my other party members they haven't done anything to piss me off (well, excluding Kaidan's hissy fit in Mass Effect 2). They're just nice people, and I'd much rather spend time with then than, say, Grunt.

And Jacob earned some respect from me when he didn't kill his crazy dad. I'm glad some members of the team are able to control their rage. Unlike a certain crazy Turrian.

Thane is just badass, and Mordin, entertaining as hell.
"I think I've cured Joker's illness. This will... no, this will cause liver failure! Start from scratch!"
Also, Garrus definitely got better in Mass Effect 2, but hearing Zaeed's stories is just funny.

Jacob seems like a good friend type person, kind of flat as a character, but he works. Tali's fun to tease with the romance stuff.
Miranda and Jack both seem to be bleh characters at first, but once you build up relationships, they're actually pretty good characters.

In fact, I still like the one that I like the least being Samara.

Congratulations to Bioware for making some actually good characters, unlike many other games.

I loved Wrex in ME1...but in ME2...I like Zaeed cuz he's a badass, Garrus cuz he's a badass, and Legion cuz he's a emotionless badass. Odd. I play Infiltrator and all my guys can use sniper rifles.

Garrus, a million times, Garrus.

He's just a dude, somebody who I could imagine actually working with if the whole thing was real. I couldn't really care less about the other characters except Thane maybe.

Also, would somebody explain the general love for Tali that I see in these kind of discussions? I find her whiny moralizing, accent, and the fact that I can't even see her face (talking to a purple screen, great!) intensely annoying. Out the airlock asap if I was given a chance. Also, all Krogan: bellends - they deserve the genophage.

1. Tali
2. Mordin
3. Garrus.

-I've had a thing (like many apparently) for Tali's character since ME1, and here she's done to a T. Seriously, I wouldn't have written her any other way. Liz Sroka (Tali's VA) really outdid herself, especially with the Tali personal mission and love subplot. Talk about emoting!

--Mordin was great, but for all the reasons others have already mentioned, and Garrus was just a blast to have around again.
Talking about VA work, Garrus's VA sounds more...smooth in ME2. Made me feel a little funny... Is it gay if it's a Turian?

-I don't know about the others, but I know my general affection for her was from how cute/useful she was in ME1 coupled with the fact that she was untouchable. In ME2, now that she's an optional LI, it's like I can finally release all that built up tension (which is portrayed pretty well through the dialogue with her for her love subplot). Also, she's much more 3 dimensional now (no graphical pun intended), so that's a huge plus.

--I guess in short you could say it's a mixture of admiration and emotional blueballs. lol

Going to have to reduce my appreciation of Garrus after doing his recruitment mission on Insanity. Fucks sake that was hard. Mordin was an absolute breeze in comparison. I mean, I still died a few times but Garrus was just annoying. I never felt annoyed with Mordin's, but Garrus' was oooooh so tedious. Especially when it was his fault he died because he couldn't learn to sit the fuck in cover.

If he's not going to regen his health, he could at least have the decency to camp in cover when he's on red blinking flashing health instead of popping his head up and just standing in the open.

*sigh*

Done it though. Don't think any of the other recruitment quests will bug me as much, although I've heard horror stories about Tali's for Insanity. Definitely going to be bringing my nuke launcher for that one.

Heh, yeah I was tempted to
shoot Kaidan and stop him heading off with the report, but I let him live, for old time's sake

I've just recruited the final team member, this game just keeps on getting better and better.

Even the side missions are fun!

Garuss all the way, if only for being a less sterotypical "me smash, you die" baddass, but a rathe charming companion. Miranda and Mordin on 2 and 3 probably.

I really liked them all, but Thane's voice effect was just awesome, and Garrus had the most fun recruitment mission (bare in mind I was an infiltrator. sniping is funsies) and other than the occasional Miranda and Grunt, they were my usual party, except when I did all the loyalty missions. And I actually liked these reincarnations of Bastilla and Carth the best, imo. Certainly better than Ashley and Kaiden, atleast.

Garrus, if not him then Thane, if I can't have either of them, then damn you, and Legion.

As much as I love Wrex and Tali, I have to go with Legion. Not only is he generally amusing at how dumbstruck he is in some situations (bringing him into the Migrant Fleet, Citadel, etc), he's one of the most powerful party members in the series so far, if not THE most powerful. Plus, he'll randomly do the Robot, which made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it I covered my monitor with iced tea.

Very close second over Wrex/Tali is Mordin. He's just so great, best Salarian ever, and this commentary on stuff like Captain Kirrahe was classic.

100% Thane. I used him on every mission (until he died because i forgot to upgrade my ship). 2nd would be Garrus. 3rd, probably Legion.
Oh, so those upgrades do matter? I was wondering if it was worth it to pour resources into better armor or guns.

OT:
Samara is kind of a meh character but her loyalty mission was pretty intense, at least in my mind.

Thane is awesome, and I like Legion although I don't know how much you actually use him (I just recruited him, about to go to the heretic place). I never thought Tali was a great character. None of them were bad in my mind.

To use a liberal meaning of companion here, I have to go with Yeoman Kelly for the best. Just...because. Miranda would have had it, but I screwed up during the scene when she argues with Jack and now she won't talk to me. Dammit, how much of a paragon do I have to be to get that dialog option?

ME1(best)= Wrex is a god(if he was real).
ME2(best)= Mordin was a legend even after he died.
ME1(worst)= Ashley she shoot's Wrex... I killed every other mother *beep* who shot at wrex, so when they ask who i was saving, i was off that planet with Kaiden before Joker could finish his sentence.
ME2(worst)= Morinth for possibly replacing Samara who was awesome as a team member(I used Samara for every mission that i could)
