With Saints Row The Third on the horizon, I thought it'd be nice to take a look back and the Rows that came before it

Specfically, I'd like to hear your favorite missions in the games, be it there Main missions, Activities, or Strongholds.

For Main missions, I'd say that I liked mostly the Brotherhood mission in Saints Row 2 where you had to sit on the back of a truck chunking creates of fireworks at Brotherhood and Police cars.

It was the most fun I had on the back of a truck since I first maned a mounted turret. Peirce playing classic music on the radio oddly enough was a nice touch.

for Activities, I'd go with Saint Row 2's Insurance Fraud, which was definately an improvement over the first Saints Row. After all, who wouldn't want to be sent flying high in the air by getting run over by a semi truck? in a game I mean?

And for Strongholds, I think I'd go with that one Los Carnarles Stronghold, I forget what it was called, but I remember it involving you attacking a broken building, clearing out the Carnarles tenets, and shooting snipers and RPG shooters that attack from rooftops several meters away from you. For those that don't know, it was in the first Saints Row.

The side missions in these games are my favorites! Some highlights are as follows:

*Insurance Fraud - Throw yourself into traffic to cause as much damage to yourself as possible.
*The Shit Truck - Idk what these missions were called, but you sprayed everything in the city down with sewage! It had me cracking up!
*Mayhem - Sometimes it's nice to have unlimited ammo, and just blow stuff up :)

Those are just a few of my favorites. The story mission in SR2 that you play while high was pretty awesome too! They get you all messed up, and you have to survive waves on incoming attackers, lol

Thirded on the samedi mission, I played that just last night too. I gotta love some of the dialogue in that mission as well.

You: "Look, I don't care how f***ed up your face is, I'm not afraid of you!"

Shaundi: "A load of samedi turned up here and started shooting the place up!"
You: "How can you be there if you're talking to me?"
Shaundi: "...are you high?"
You: "Y'know what's awesome about you? Your name. Is it irish?"
Shaundi: "I'm going to die. Great."

Shaundi at the end of the mission when you're passed out on the HQ floor: "F***ing lightweights..."

I also loved the mission where you're in the car with pearce, and he's in control of the radio, and starts singing.

Thank you! Couldn't remember the name, that's just always what I called it xD

But, yeah, that mission was innovative (tell me one other game that makes you fight off waves of enemies while you can barely see the screen, lol), and overall very memorable!

I don't remember the name, but there was one Ronin mission in Saints Row 2 where you chased someone down and killed someone while you were both on motorcycles. I remember weaving in and out of traffic and thinking how amazingly fun it was.

Hahahahhahaha! I had completely forgotten about the off-the-wall dialogue in that part. Fantastic! Reminds me why I love these games so much :)

I like the main missions. I love the before and after cutscenes of each mission. Of course I also love the cutscenes before an activity too. I sorta wish those also had a closing cutscene.

Insurance fraud was fuuuuuuun xD

I rather liked the rampage thing where they'd give you a tonne of weapons and ask you to kindly go destroy an entire neighbourhood xD

To be perfectly honest, and I might sound almost trite when I say this, but just about *all* of the main-story "campaign" missions had a surprising amount of 'weight' to them. While Saint's Row, and especially Saint's Row 2 seemed to rip out a page from the GTA playbook, they made everything seem, at least on the surface, to be 'funny' and 'all for the laughs'... and then Carlos gets killed by being drug through traffic from the back of a truck, and you have to end up shooting him to put him out of his misery. You end up putting another gang-leader's girlfriend in the trunk of a car that's going to be in a Monster-Truck/Demolition-Mashup THAT THE GANGLEADER IS HEADLINING. It was sort of surreal, so... my favorite missions? The whole story. And yes, there was a story. Not really towards the end, but definitely the emotional culmination that had me laughing even while I was going, 'No, wait, what?' Sort of like what happened to Lin in the first Saint's Row. Yeah, you laughed about it after, (when you called the 'Voodoo Number', and then there were nods to it in the second SR,) but still. Slap-stick versus surreal. It's like Kill Bill meets Looney Tunes. (You get SO MANY brownie points if you know what that reference is from. It's a review. For a movie. That is all. End of line.)

I love the stoned dialog. Also, the fact that you're off your face and unarmed, and still badass enough to beat the crap out of two armed goons in the back of a limo before jumping out.

The Peirce radio thing happens in two missions - at one mission, you're driving, and he changes your radio; you tell him that when he's driving he can pick the station. A few missions later ...

Not so much a mission, but the ending cutscene on the Brotherhood where you
Stuff Jessica into the back of her car, and place it exactly where Maero will crush it ... then applaud and throw him the keys ... So friggin cool.

Any mission with Gat... he's the man!
Oh and Pierce singing to "So Sick" is a classic... man he can't sing!

I also love the notes at the end of missions, like when you rob the casino it say's "Casino Heist: Srimp Night Cancelled"
