Bwah? Die Hard 4 but not 1,2,3? All of which are better than 4 by long long strides. Seriously if you haven't watched them leave whatever you're doing now, get them and watch them.

Also, which Hulk, both are distinctly average.

Myself:

Die Hard 1-3
Indiana Jones 1-3
Vanishing Point
Fallen
South Park the Movie
George A Romero's Knightriders

This is a tough topic. As a lover of movies, I'm not sure I can narrow down my favs...but I'll give a few:

Back to the Future Trilogy
Schindler's List
The Princess Bride
Indiana Jones TRILOGY
Pan's Labyrinth
Heat
Legend of the Drunken Master
Hero
The Jacket
Hot Fuzz / Shaun of the Dead
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Kill Bill (Both)
Sin City

And more recently...

I hadn't heard anything about that, and my wife and I just rented it for the heck of it. Great movie. Freaking hilarious (The blank in the eye!). And fairly moving in some parts.

That's just a few. It's hard to make this list!

Sorry Scarx, but this thread doesn't leave a lot of room for discussion and quickly becomes a 'list-thread' that most moderators will toss into the Lockatron 4000.

Maybe choose a specific movie that you love and discuss in depth why it's your favorite. That route however is more of a user review. Either way, it's up to you.

pulp fiction, the dialogee is so smooth and brilliant, John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson make the most mundane dialogue into the funniest thing you have ever seen.

To declare a single movie as my favorite, I would need a single quantifier, such as the number of times I've watched it.

That movie is Fight Club. With 340 viewings in 2005.

I can't really decide on one but my favourites are Pulp Fiction, Dr Strangelove, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, The Big Lebowski, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Saving Private Ryan, Life of Brian, Monsters Inc, Wall-e, Wayne's World 1 and 2, Clockwork Orange and that's all i can think of for now but i just love movies.

Not to say the third Die Hard was a bad movie, but compared to the first two, it was crap. Four was also good, but the first two are the best of the series, by far.

More on topic, though, my favorites are as follows:

Cloverfield
Donnie Darko
Iron Man
Midnight Run
Forrest Gump
Shaugn of the Dead
South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut

One of my favorite things to do is watch really bad movies and make fun of them Mystery Science Theater 3000 style. It's especially fun when I have friends over. It gets pretty funny sometimes when all those jokers are together watching some terrible movie. MST3K should be brought back on the air. There are lots of movies that deserve the treatment. Their website rifftrax.com is pretty good too, but keeping the mp3 track in sync with the movie is a pain sometimes.

Fight Club
Iron Man
V for Vendetta
Both Futurama movies
Super Troopers
Shaun of the Dead
Hero

The most recent addition to my list would have to be Wall-e; I love the fact that it's a kid's movie, but there's actually a lot of social commentary included, without becoming preachy. It's impressive when a movie can be great when the two main characters only have two or three lines, two of which are their own names.

Wall-E was amazing. I loved how it explained and commented so much, by saying so little. A true movie of art. And a pet cockroach is amazing :D

The Warriors - It was called everything from "revolutionary" to "incendiary and dangerous." Looked at with today's perspective, the idea that a film as campy as this could be seen in such a way seems laughable. Despite this, it's one of my favorite movies. It's cheesy, yes, but there's some great writing, and the fight sequences are still top notch.

Spider-Man 2 - To me, this movie is everything a fantasy superhero film should be. It recognizes that it could never happen in real life, so it pulls no punches with over-the-top visuals and stunts, and thanks to some stellar FX work, it looks fantastic. Another thing: Tobey Maguire was never the greatest pick to be Spider-Man in my mind, but he really came into his own with this flick. Whether or not you like him, you believe he's Peter Parker by the end of the movie.

The Dark Knight - At the other end of the spectrum, this movie is everything a realistic superhero film should be. It's based around comic book mythos that borders on legendary, yet it's still very firmly ground in reality. With the exception of a few of the Joker's more outlandish schemes, almost everything about it seems like it could occur in real life. It doesn't hurt that the writing is amazing, too.

Dumb and Dumber - As the title may suggest, it's not the smartest film out there, but you'd be lying if you said it wasn't damn funny. The chemistry that Carrey and Daniels have never ceases to amaze me.

In no particular order:
Revolver
The 25th Hour
Donnie Darko
Iron Man
Pan's Labyrinth
Across the Universe

There's probably more if I really think, but those are some of my favorites.
