Fairly straightforward question. What are some of your favorite music videos, and why do you like them?

I have to say, my number 1 favorite music video is probably Take On Me by A-Ha. Take a look and listen:

The video itself is really well directed with a lot of good cinematography. It tells a short story of sorts, which I always enjoy. Additionally, it happens to be quite visually striking with the transition between comic-book sketches and real life, which is always a plus. Also, it has a subtle Altered States reference near the end. How can you go wrong with classic sci-fi body-horror film references? The correct answer: You cannot. Doesn't hurt that the song itself is not half bad. :)

Gotta love Rammstein.

And Sonne gets a special mention for having the most awesome version of Snow White...

Into The Void-Nine inch Nails

It's one of the more interesting videos I've seen, and galaxies ahead of any music video nowadays. Plus they knew how to trash sets/stages properly back then.

Well, that is way closer to Trent Reznor than I ever wanted to be in my life. Still an interesting music video nonetheless.

I think you mean obvious...ly good. Thank you! Thank you! I will be here all week!

Okay, but seriously, to get a bit more... obscure, I really like Mastodon's video for Curl of the Burl. It is so crazy and out there, and has such a twisted ending it is hard for me not to love. :)

It helps that both video clips are produced by aniBOOM.

First, I agree with the OP, that is a good video. (It also has a semi-sequel... but it gets kinda depressing). As for some of my favorites...

"Land of Confusion"- Disturbed (Don't get me wrong, I love the original song, but the video for that version is just... weird...)

Various Gorillaz music videos, including "19/2000", "Feel Good Inc.", and "Clint Eastwood"

The videos for "Dream Girl" and "Everyday" by the Dave Matthews Band

A few Linkin Park music videos, such as "Breaking the Habit", "What I've Done", and "Iridsecent".

And pretty much the entire album for Daft Punk's "Discovery".

...YES, I am aware that I have unusual tastes, no need to point it out...

I hope it does't make you any more uncomfortable if I told you he was probably out of his mind on smack during that video.

I adore that Video clip! It's what I was going to post when I read the title. However, with that taken I must ante up with .... this!

I love this video. Not just because it's by my favourite band but because it just looks so...vast and I wish that sci-fi wars looked more like this! :p

There is simply no contest. This 5-minute music video is a legitimately great piece of fanciful sci-fi set to a legitimately great piece of fanciful music. No topping it.

Ok guys, that was nice and all, but its time to end this thread. Here it comes. No one can top this.
I shall admit, the Rube Goldberg machine in that is pretty awesome, and so is OK Go. But so is this. C'mon, its DOMINOS!

The song is decent as well, though I had never heard of them before, and still don't really follow them.
