Okay, so there have been a lot of threads that ask what your favorite animal is. No one ever asks what your favorite plant is. So due to my incredible boredom I decided to make a thread about it.

My recent plant fascination has been the Amorphophallus Wilhelma, also known as the "Corpse Flower".

Cited to be the world's largest flower the Corpse Flower's prey is carrion eating beetles. Exuding the smell of rotting flesh it attracts beetles to it's stem looking to eat. Then it proceeds to slide down the stem where it is then digested in the plant's digestive acids. Very interesting stuff.

What's a triffid?

The triffid is a highly venomous plant, the titular antagonist from the 1951 novel The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham. A fictional piece of work for the record.

Just ninja'd me to it. Probably the most romantic flower ever. Gave a bunch of these to my last GF and she loved them. And it's manly cos it has barbs n stuff to cut you with!
