Seeing as some of the views present in this forum sound too much like my own views a year or two back, I figured I'd direct people towards some of the songs which made me like rap (it's not all Gansta Rap and Kanye).
A Tribe Called Quest: Electric Relaxation - Tribe were an interesting collision between Rap and Jazz, this song had the best video.

Jurassic 5: What's Golden - Fantastic Song, probably my favourite.

Outkast: Ms Jackson - Southern hip hop needs some more representation in this forum.

Public Enemy: Harder than you think - politically motivated rappers commentating on some of the negative effects idolising the Gangsta culture has had.

Kanye: Homecoming - Depsite my general dislike of this guy and his music, the rapping and piano riff in this is fantastic, alongside some cleverer than usual lyrics (Windy isn't a person - You should be able to work out the rest yourselves!).
