I was going through Dragon Age again, and I noticed a number of very obscure and well hidden references to other media that I found rather funny.

Both of these came from the curator of the chantry in Denerim.

She talks about the false sales of "holy finger bones", a reference to The Black Adder.
As well, she talks about how the sandal fell from Andraste's foot, a reference to The Life of Brian, where his zealots steal his sandal and proclaim it a sign from god.

What are your favorite media references in Dragon Age?

.... Was that from the first series? I don't remember it being in the rest of them.

OT : I remember noticing a couple of infamous, "7" References.

Yes, it was from the first series, when Edmund became the Archbishop of Canterbury.

"Huh? Oh, the uniform!"
"I'm the Grey Warden and I'm here to rescue you!"

This:

* Zevran: I think I have a joke for you, my fine dwarven friend.
* Oghren: Just don't expect me to laugh.
* Zevran: So a human, an elf, and a dwarf are walking down a trail beside a stream, and they stop to take a piss.
* Oghren: All right. Things are lookin' up. Continue.
* Zevran: After, the human takes out some soap and begins washing his hands. "We humans have learned how to be clean and hygienic," he says to the others. The elf begins picking some leaves off the trees and wipes his hands with them. "We elves do as tradition has taught us and use what nature has provided." The dwarf, meanwhile, has pulled up his trousers and is already on his way down the trail. "And our ancestors," he calls back, "taught us dwarves not to piss on our hands!" (Laughs)
* Oghren: Heh. Shows you what you know about dwarves.

It was that one after Alistair's Crowning, in the endgame. The one with Sten. You know which one I'm talking about.

Although I wil admit that I thought the GTA reference in Mass Effect 2 was better than anything from Dragon age.

This isn't from dragon age, but in Mass Effect 1, there's a reference to 'the maker'

The Superman random encounter was pretty funny.I think it only happens if you get the Warden's Keep DLC though

If you keep talking to the gamestop representative video game salesman on the 28th floor of the citadel, he'll eventually mention that he doesn't understand the controversy that surrounds the G-(something) Terminus Alliance games, remarking that the worst thing you can do is kidnap old women and sell them into slavery (or something along those lines). It was pretty subtle, but it was definitely there.
