I don't care if someone already posted this but, I am curious what is your personal favorite Role Playing Game. It can be tabletop or a video game.

My favorite is Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past because it had the basic format of every Legend of Zelda game after it even if it was not the first in the series. Also what made it good was the dungeon layouts and how they used the graphics on the SNES.

You should; considering there's a thread identical to this one on the same page...

On Topic:

. Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, Infinite Undiscovery, Final Fantasy 6 and 7, Pokemon and Star Ocean 2 are probably my favourites.

You should, you're not supposed to.

Anyway, like I always say in these threads, Morrowind.

Use the search button from now on, or you'll become very unpopular very quickly.

Fallout 1+2 The best games ever made IMO nigh-perfect in every way.

For tabletop Dark Heresy easily (5 pages of over the top critical hit effects really make me fall in love with the game).

Beyond them the Neverwinter Nights toolset was good and DnD 3.5 is always fun.

I love me some Bioware.
Beat me to it. I suppose this makes us even in our BG ninja'ing.

But I shall defeat you yet!

Take a look at my avatar and I think you'll be able to hazard a guess.

Also, Zelda's considered an RPG?

In list form, as always.
In no particular order:

* Morrowind
* Pokemon Red/Blue
* Final Fantasy IX
* World of Warcraft (yeah, I know it's an MMORPG. but still)

Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Suikoden II
Mother, Earthbound/Mother 2, and Mother 3
Pokemon (The whole franchise)
Vagrant Story

EDIT: In no particular order really...though, Earthbound/Mother 2 and Mother 3 are probably the closest to my favorites. >.>

I need to set a macro for this...

The classics:
- Fallout 1 and 2
- Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 with both expansions
- Planescape: Torment
- Arcanum

The indie:
- Eschalon: Book I

The oddball:
- Stonekeep (1995 by Interplay). This game was an absolute revolution! And here's the sad part: Black Isle Studios worked on a sequel called Stonekeep 2: Godmaker for five years before cancelling it in 2001.

Baldur's Gate series
Mass Effect
Neverwinter Nights (I'm a bit of a BioWare whore in case you can't tell yet)
Morrowind
Fallout 1 and 2

ME might just edge out BG if the sequel's as good as the first game. I can't seem to keep the original out of my 360 for more than a couple days.

Bwahaha!
When I saw I was quoted in this thread, I somehow just knew it was you.

Let the BG ninja war continue...

The best console RPG's are Persona 3/4 for me. For PC it's gotta be Diablo 2, hands down.
And for the classics it's gotta be Paper Mario and Chrono Trigger
