I'm a pretty big fan of the Steampunk setting. I just love the technology in them.Trains, primitive automobiles, steam powered air ships, those things are so awesome! I'm also pretty keen on Modern Time settings. I'd like games to use this setting much more...wait,never mind.

I REALLY dislike the Medieval settings...same goes for TEH FUCHA. They just seemed so overdone.

So what about you guys?

I loved Final fantasy 8's setting. It was modern with a off tint of magic, it was awesome. Want more games like that, ok a few FF's are set in similar settings but, there was something special about 8, to me.

I don't really dislike any setting, Medieval, Future, it's all cool with me!

Anything with rain, lots of cold blowing rain, I like rain.

Seriously, it doesn't matter the setting, if it's raining then I feel oddly happy.

I really like the idea of an 1840s setting. Wide open spaces, steamboats, peaceful countryside, etc. Either that, or the Industrial Revolution of the 20th Century. Seeing modern buildings being built that are vital parts of today is pretty cool for a setting.

Steampunk is the best way to go.

That or a steampunk setting to the game the game takes place in AKA .hack//G.U.'s setting of The World R:2

I'm personally a big fan of urban fantasy, which is a modern setting (as the name suggests, specifically a city) containing magic, mythical creatures, or some similar type of conceit. It is (to my knowledge) less done than other types of fantasy and sci-fi, and still feels fresh to me.

I like the Warhammer 40k setting alot. But other games that are depressing like Fallout 3 have a setting that just pisses me off.

I love steampunk a lot but I love the ideaof Mudane Fantastical, as in a modern day world only there are giant robot battles and it's a normal everyday thing
Kinda like the comic Megatokyo

When old timer and futuristic technology and culture is mixed (see KOTOR).

And the "standard fantasy setting".

I enjoy the Western fantasy setting.
It's cliche, I'll admit, but it's DAMN fun.

That, OR Italy Assassin's Creed II.
MAN, that place was beautiful.....

You must get a KICK out of Left 4 Dead 2's level Hard Rain, then.

I hate that level with a burning intensity DX

Near future sci-fi, exotic, aliens, but not too gritty or dark.

this is probably why Avatar is my favorite movie...

I love ancient settings, were the weather is warm and the ocean is near, like ancient Greece. Now, this is assuming that all the poverty and shit didn't exist. Other than that, I like steampunk, it is interesting, neat and totally impractical, but like hell that will stop me *goes back to workshop with blowtorch and bucket of water*

yeah, i also enjoy the whole "lower technology and higher Morales vs Higher technology and lower Morales" motif, but it was the beautifully created jungle there that really did it for me.

Beginning of Edo Era Japan, a time that should be great for a rebellion! After all, what decent Samurai would want to disgrace himself by choosing between being under the emperor's control or being able to make a living? I mean, I know it was "Honorable" to serve under an emperor, but after all those years of the samurai ruling do you really want to?

It seems to be cliche to love steampunk at this point, but I guess add me to the list. Honestly, I'm just partial to settings we don't see often. Western, steampunk, hell nearly anything but classic future, modern, and fantasy would be nice.

I downright LOVE the Steampunk setting, specifically the "Magic against Science" type.

I'd would love to get involved with all the groups and other people interested in it, and am working on kind of a technological zealot type costume with a frost-throwing pistol and a drill staff.

[small]I cannot wait to walk into the renaissance fair with all of it..[/small]
