top 3 (Anime) are The World God Only Knows, a generic yet very unique and hilarious comedy, Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Honourable mentions to Pandora hearts for the beautiful music, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica for the astounding animation, music and mixture of art styles, let down by several boring hours spent focussing on the 2d characters in the show, rather than the good ones.

Also to Futurama and The Wire, the only western shows I watch (not finished The Wire yet so it counts).
