Rebuilding Luin in Tales of Symphonia. Especially when it's completely rebuilt and the guy heading the reconstruction says "Hey, why don't we go beyond this?"

Hideously expensive, but gave a real sense of accomplishment...and opened up some damned awesome weapons.

The Antagonizer and The Mechanist

I'd have to say the quest in Oblivion where you need to go check out why the local merchant Thoronir has lower prices than everyone else. After investigation, you learn all his items are graverobberies, and you get to kill the robber!

Find my pet Cat... Really!

Actually Unlocking Yuffie in FF:VII and helping her in her hometown is a personal favorite.(Spoilier)She may try to steal your materia.

On a side-note my least favorite has to be the find me a rare item from a creature family but it only drops from 1 type in a special region of an area and then rarely to boot.

The vampire quest line in Fallout 3. Not just because of the epic plot twist but also because it starts out looking like a run-of-the-mill courier sidequest and turns into a 3 hour long ordeal.

I really enjoyed the "Lifting the Vale" quest in Oblivion, despite the awful pun in the title.

I just liked the feeling of being on an epic quest, which you have to do on foot and involves travelling quite a long distance, to go and fetch a powerful, legendary artefact; the sort of thing that you expect from a good side quest in a fantasy RPG.

What was disappointing with Oblivion was that the side quests were almost always better than the main quest.

There's this one on Oblivion, where you have to go and get some ... thing for this daedra and all the furniture's on the ceiling and crap like that.

Am I making sense to anyone here?
