I know that some might consider this as being a gigantic versus thread, but really, this is all in good fun. After recently finishing Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (SMB2 in Japan), I started thinking about old games. Thinking it might be fun to revisit some classics with my fellow escapists, I'd like to ask if everybody could just take a moment, sit back, and think about which SNES game was your favorite. Feel free to eleaborate on your choice, or to include runner-ups in your list. There are no wrong choices here, as everybody has different tastes, and maybe we might hear about some fun experiences we never had a chance to try before.

With that said, I will go ahead and start- My favorite SNES game, as of right now, is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I am a HUGE Zelda fan, and A Link to the Past just spoke to me. It sets quite a few precedents for the series, upgrades everything I love from the previous games, and manages to do so with wit and style. While other games come close to beating it (Super Metroid, for example), nothing can displace Link from his position as Nintendo's most famous man in green. Sorry Luigi.

So, *gives imaginary talking stick to next poster* which game is your favorite?

It's a 3-way tie for me, between SMW, Mega Man X, and TMNT IV: Turtles In Time.

Either one of the Super Mario World games, or Final Fantasy 3 (VI). I was more of a Genesis guy.

Favorite is probably Final Fantasy III (as it was called back then), but Super Metroid, Terranigma and Axelay were all great games.

Much as I'm enjoying FF3 at the moment, I'm gonna have to give a shout-out to Chrono Trigger.

Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
(One of the last games to feature Han Solo as a playable character.)

Shadowrun
(The good 1993 version, not the bad anime version)

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
(Awesome.)

Definitely my most played SNES game. Mario Paint taught me not only the basics of frame-by-frame cartoon animation and stringing together notes to make music but even helped develop my mouse skills before I ever had a computer.

So I guess I've got this game to thank for my recently-developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Fun.

Aside from the obvious ones, Metal Warriors was my favourite SNES game. Unfortunately it came out the year the Playstation came out so everybody missed it.

It had the best (that's right, THE BEST) SNES multiplayer I've ever played and I advise EVERYONE to get their hands on a copy (good luck).

Super probotector was far better than Zelda, as was Secret of Mana, Sim city, Street fighter 2, Mario kart, F Zero, Pilots wings, Turtles in time.

I could go on. I just didnt "get" zelda

Looking back I's say these are my favourite SNES games:
Mario paint
Secret of Evermore
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mario Kart

And out of them my absolute favourite would be Secret of Evermore...
I'm sure I've forgotten something, but for now that's it.

It's a tossup between FF3/6(for being one of my all time favorite RPGs), Yoshis' Island, it's a bitchen platformmer with charm., Super Castlevania 4,another awesome platformer full of mannliness despite Simons skirt, the man pimp strides to Drac. and LTTP, my first zelda and one of the first games I loved. All great games. Honerable mention goes to Legend of the mystical ninja for general oddness and cool bosses

Well, that's great... Too bad your testicles got crushed between your legs.

Oh, and thanks to the body mass, you can't have an erection. Ever. Congratulations.
