And a ton of stuff on the Saturn (Guardian Heroes, Capcom 2D fighters, Deep Fear, Sega Rally, Panzer Dragoons 1-3, Shining JRPG's...)

Uplink

Very little know game from an independent games company. Based on hacking and cracking computer systems.

*deep breath*
Lego Racers, Lego Island Xtreme Stunts, Cultures 2, Virtua Tennis 2, Football Manager (series), Praetorians, F1 06, Luminous Arc, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Blade II, Phoenix Wright (series)

My video game purchase policy is slightly biased towards games I remember from my youth, but also consists primarily of cheap pre-owned games. I end up with lots of underrated games. I spend quite a lot of my time on the Escapist trying to make people care.

Rise Of Nations, Titan Quest. Not really underrated, but more like forgotten.

Dead Rising
YAY! Someone other than me who speaks of Dead Rising's glory. I have played that game at least a dozen times and will likely play it a dozen more.

You get +1 to your zombie disemboweling skill.
I guess that makes three of us! Although I wouldn't say that it's a "pretty new game" considering that it's over three years old. I have seriously played that game through over a dozen times though. It's just too easy to save all the survivors and complete all the scoops now. Do you ever find yourself deliberately taking measures to make the game harder?
I have. More than once I've made a whole new gamertag profile to start a new Dead Rising game instead of playing a new game with my lvl 50 Frank. So no MEGA Buster or Laser sword.
Yeah I did a perfect playthrough in which I wouldn't use the RMB, the laser sword or any firearms. The other survivors were also not allowed firearms and couldn't be healed. The highlight was definitely when Shinji beat the crap out of Adam with a handbag. Ah good times...
Wow, that's hard core. I have done most of that, but never without using firearms of any kind. I always try to keep at least a few shotguns around for the survivors to use.

When DR 2 comes out hit me up for some multiplayer. :)
Why thank you, I guess it is hardcore. Though I've never created a new profile so as to begin at Level 1 again so perhaps that's something I should next attempt. Sure it would be nice to play multiplayer on DR2 with another fanatic like myself. Also, just out of interest, I guess you've tried Infinity Mode before? If so what time did you achieve?

Im not going to make a huge list but i will mention one of the most underrated jrpgs ever made

Baten Kaitos (Gamecube)

Kind of a mixture between yu-gi-oh and final fantasy you choose your cards to fight with and make different combinations of cards with different elemental attacks. Its one of my favourite games on the Gamecube and one of the longest (you are looking at a good sixty hours from start to finish)The plot is incredibly good (And by good i mean final fantasy good) and it booast one of the biggest plot twist in a videogame to date but i won't spoil it so you can play it yourself and find out or just look on wikipedia or something.

The World Ends with You (DS)
Devil Survivor (DS)
Phantom Crash (Xbox)
Jet Set Radio [Future] (Dreamcast/Xbox360)
Shadow of the Collossus (PS2)
Sonic Adventure/2 (Dreamcast)
Psychonaughts (Xbox)
Monster Rancher 2 (PS1)

These are probably my picks for games that, while proably not overly underrated, don't get nearly the recognition they actually deserve.

Psychonauts certainly gets top honors, but I think a more underrated game would be the DS version of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. Say what you will about the console version, but the DS version is like a cross between Metroid and Viewtiful Joe. And it's as good as it sounds.

Mafia - critically acclaimed (bar the most hilariously-wrong Eurogamer review I've ever seen*), but I don't think it ever sold amazingly like it should have.

*[small]Boy do I get mad when people try to compare it to GTA. [/small]

Best I ever did in Infinity mode was to last just long enough to unlock the Laser Sword. As soon as I got the 5day achievement I turned off the machine.

That mode was a decent idea in theory, but in practice it just meant a whole lot of waiting around. And I can wait around in real life. I haven't played that mode again after getting the 5 day survivor achievement.

How about you?

Well originally I was planning on playing just long enough to unlock both the Five Day and Seven Day Survivor achievements, but somewhere down the line I thought I would see how long I could last. The answer? 24 hours 25 minutes and 30 seconds (in-game 12 days 5 hours and 6 minutes). Earned me rank 257 in the world but it was agonisingly dull.
