Ah, a lot of those mentions bring back memories.. as for a favorite.. well, theres too many to mention. Any close-combat weapon for me, I get some perverse pleasure from sneaking up behind people and knifing/clubbing/batting/punching them right in the funsack.

again, i can honestly say that my favorite (isnt the best but damned if it isnt fun as hell) is the Assassin Knife from Assassins Creed. 7 hours of easily enjoyable fun by jumping the nearest guard/civilian/leper/partol and leting the fun ensue.

Bioshocks Plasmids, what's more fun than being able to freeze, flame, electrocute, trick and blast your enemies? And is there anything cooler than insects shooting out of your veins?

The Sniper's machete from TF2 - Something about it makes the hairs on my arm stand on edge and my Aussie blood boil.

The US carbine from DOD - Just loved popping all those rounds into those damn Nazis.

Max's boxing glove from Sam and Max Season one - Technically an item, I loved the idea that it's an hypnosis cure device.

Ripper from UT & Unreal - Finally my namesake gun, It shoots saw blades need I say more. I was very pissed to find it would not be in UT3.

I'd love to try out the Portal Gun in a normal FPS match. So easy, just shoot the ceiling somewhere high on the map, then go around shooting people's feet. Or, if there's no falling damage, you can make your own murder holes in the ceilings.
Something about the phrase "murder holes" sounds inexorably filthy, as well as homocidal.

Good job.

I liked the weapons in the buggy but enjoyable Boiling Point. Particularly the crossbow (for awesome, albeit fiddly, 1-shot stealth kills) and the jam jar (attracts hundreds of nasty jungle bugs to bite/sting the living fuck out of someone whilst you shoot their friends.)

Shopping carts, dude. And can drinks, they're where it's at. Not to mention the Gibson Flying Vs and the umbreallas. Dead Rising remains the world champion of innovative ways to cause death.

I love that nail gun from quake 4. You shoot the enemy once and the rest of the bullets after fire directly at the enemy again needless to where you point it!

I also have to give credit to the martydome skill you get in COD4. That thing just racks in the points!

Honestly, I'd have to say the Red Queen is the coolest edition to the hall of awesome weaponry. Nero doesn't play around with that baby.
