Books - Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Zahn trilogy, anyone who has read it knows the fear he instills in every scene, even out classing Joruus Caboth in some scenes, and Joruus is an insane jedi master who uses his powers to control all. Sometimes controlling entire ships, from other ships. And Thrawn turns this guy into his pawn for the books.

Anime - Legato Bluesummers from Trigun. As much as I love Knives and the entire Gung Ho Gang Legato was the perfect foil for Vash. And he was like a Boogeyman in the story, he can't just be killed, and he doesn't care if you would. He lacks pain, remorse, and any true emotion. Aside from a wicked smile when he sees Vash suffer.

Games - I would say someone like Golbez or Kefka but I haven't beat IV or VI yet. So right now I'll say Sovereign. At first Saren is seemingly your true enemy but god, when Sovereign gave his speech, I got scared bad. It wasn't just a strong Turian in a big ship with a few robots. It was a mastermind controlling everything around him, who could use the tools set up previously to destroy an entire civilization. Truly terrifying.

What about Dr. Pankow of Parker Lewis can't lose? He was funnily-evil:

Also a great villain:

Aku (Samurai Jack)

Oh, this is easy. Scorpius from Farscape. That scene on the exploding command carrier, water cascading down the stairs and Scorpy just taking it all in... epic.

I think I will go here:

He's the kind of guy who you know is a villain from the first time you meet him, but is just so intriguing a character. If he wasn't funny as hell, I wouldn't put him here.

I would have to say Hades from the Hercules cartoon or General Knoxx from Borderlands. Villains that'll kill ya and make you laugh. Also Hades was surprisingly good-mannered for a villain, besides the whole overthrow Zeus thing.

I cant believe no one has mentioned Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. he's not so much cool as he is just completely and utterly evil, (SPOILER ALERT) he invents a way to actually kill a cartoon, hes a psycopathic murderer that loves to kill the toons, not to mention that HE IS A FREAKIN' CARTOON HIMSELF. and just seeing his cartoon self, (shudder) scarred for life

Ok I'm impressed.

I would love to live in that universe, well except for MLM trying to kill everyone.

I find the lack of Vergil Sparda disturbing:

God damn google and their inconvenient new format for picture searches...

Thrawn (grand admiral), from some StarWars book i cant remember the title. A very smart villian, the kind that we should see WAY more often. My favorite by far.

Randall Flagg, in "The Stand" and Dark Tower. Hes an evil bastard and hes very good at it.
