The Immortal had so many brutal ways to die. Small spiders, big spiders, giant worms from beneath the floor, giant squids, dragons etc., all with nice animations. Such a cruel game...

My top favorite way to die in a game has and always will be being eaten alive by chickens in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. That was one of the few times in my childhood where I uttered the phrase "Oh fuck" in front of my parents and had my Dad agree with me whole-heartedly.

As for my favorite kill, the series to go for was Prince of Persia (Sands of Time through The Two Thrones) Many of the kills were brutal, especially in Warrior Within. The best kill had to be in The Two Thrones, however, when you figure out how to combo speed kills. Nothing is more satisfactory than falling from a high beam onto some unsuspecting minion's back, then swiftly ripping his face in half with your dagger while impaling his companion up the ass with his own sword.

Although for the laugh my ass of deaths, nothing beats randomly knifing people after a flash-bang goes off in Counter Strike. You wouldn't believe how many people just run into a room after throwing a flash-bang, not thinking that those who are blinded may slice them up before they can say "PWN3D N00BS"

i enjoy the way you can kill many people in F.E.A.R. such as slo-mo shotgunning(sp?) someone into mist while running and flykicking his buddy through a plate-glass window in the same action.

Drowning in sonic is a bad death, its the music and stuff that makes me panic

The weed eater in Dead Rising. You can find it near the back of the hardware store in the north plaza.

You can pick up a zombie with it by impaling them, which will cause them to spin helplessly. You can walk around and knock other zombies out of the way with your spinning zombie, as it slowly loses it's limbs until it's a headless, limbless stump. You can then throw that stump at another zombie just to make them stumble.

I feel so very 12 years old right now.

The Godfather Blackhand edition had some pretty brutal executions.
-Sticking a pistol in someones mouth then pulling the trigger twice.
-Throwing a guy face down then shooting him in the head.
-Hitting someone in the gut with the butt of a shotgun and then, while they're doubled over, shooting them in the back of the head.
-Breaking a neck by stepping on it.
They're not even that bloody but the sound and animations just make them so violent.

I do enjoy melee kills in the original Call of Duty; especially if I can sneak up on someone and wait a second or two for them to realize that someone has gotten the drop on them.

Overkill deaths in general are usually pretty cool-- long falls, huge explosions, any time one gun would do the trick but five are used, or anything involving a body flying through a window or over a railing.

Thanks to the extreme feeling of glee as I see my shattered remains around me I recently re-discovered my love of Half-life and where I can find the largest lit jump in the game and plunge myself to the heaven that is replay-respawn ^^

Ahh, Zelda's chickens. That was a funny way to die. Also, getting rear-ended by an allied grunt's ghost when he was going full boost on Halo 2.

Favorite ways to kill...hmm, certainly no-scoping someone from a few feet away on Halo 3, jumping someone and jamming the hidden blade into their neck on Assassin's Creed, and a shot right between the eyes on helmeted guards on the first Splinter Cell.

I've got to say, beating someone down on Halo 3 while they are about to beat YOU down with their sword (cheap weapon) is amazing, I believe it's called a BullTrue on that game.

Assassins Creed has a death, with his short-blade, where he stabs the guy in the toe then up into the jaw (or something like that) which is quite cool.

Unreal Tournaments Redeemer is quite funny... especially on the first game's demo level (Morpheus? not sure) getting to the top of that tower then blasting the Redeemer, especially when there are a lot of people around, seeing that blast radius is quite nice and then hearing "M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!" from the announcer. good stuff.

Raging Demon (Street Fighter). It's so satisfying landing that move.

Wesker's Thrust Punch (Resident Evil 4). So fun, especially when used on top of that tower in that one stage with the water.

Mine Thrower (Resident Evil 4). It's fun nailing a ganado's head, then knocking him into his buddies with a nice roundhouse. Then sitting back and watching the fireworks.

Create A Fatality (Mortal Kombat: Armageddon) What I like to do is slap them around, knock them to their knees, then slap them around some more. It's fun seeing the slap animation repeated so many times.

My favorite Kill was in World of Warcraft when I killed a hunter (ranged damage) with a dagger thrown by my rogue (usually melee damage). Since I am undead, I eat my foes once I slay them.

Or perhaps for Tenchu: Return from darkness (which I love for its flawed AI) Both Rikimaru and Ayame's aerial stealth kills. Rikimaru jumps on the shoulders of his victim and thrusts down with his Katana leaping off before they collapse. Ayame would leap and land with one shin on each shoulder of her enemy, then she would twist her legs and snap the enemy's neck. The body would crumple forward and have a face staring at the sky that should be looking down,

My favorite death is any in the original Prince of Persia when he has a memory lapse after you're a tard and forget to rewind time.

After that I'd say drowning in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The music, the suspense, the countdown, the chance for redemption, followed by a plummet through the ground. I know this happened in all the old sonic games, but Sonic 2 was by far the best and deserves to be credited so (though perhaps a topic for another post).

To kill:
-Freezing a Space Pirate and then shattering it with a missile in Metroid Prime
-Running down pedestrians in any Grand Theft Auto
-Death by exploding penguin (Disgaea)
-A lot of the gruesome level kills in Manhunt

Be killed (odd thing to think about):
-Seeing your character explode mid-spell in one of Eternal Darkness's hallucinations
-Torturing your Sims to death (it's at least as boring death for you... there's nothing to do once they're gone!)
-Any death in Destroy All Humans! thanks to the humorous newspaper headlines that explain away your extraterrestrial appearance. (Rampaging shaved monkey gunned down by zookeeper!)
-Being done in by a self-launched Koopa shell in any 2-D Mario game

Oh, forgot a couple kills: I gotta semi-ditto Duck sandwich above me. While Thrust punch is awesome, his axe-kick was even more amazing.

Let us not forget Mortal Kombat, knocking someone into the pit.

To Kill:
Using the nail gun in FEAR to nail a soldier's head to the wall while in mid-flight.

Be Killed:
Crouched into a corner, and watching a grenade fall 1 feet next to you - knowing your going to die and knowing you cant do anything about it. (applies to various games)
