Favorite Zelda Game?

Hmm...

Favorite in what aspect should be the question, really. I like all of the Zelda games, call me a fanboy if you will. I think, however, that if you're looking for storyline then the Twilight Princess beats the rest -- It breaks up the confusion of the previous games by introducing a solid love interest in Ilia, rather than having Link pimp his way through the countryside or randomly become romantic with Zelda.

It also actually gives him a semblance of a backstory, and a vague idea of where he gets his sword prowess. Other Zelda games just toss him a sword and suddenly he carves his way through legions of creatures. The puzzles for Twilight Princess are intuitive, and you know where it is you're supposed to go as opposed to wandering around for your story in Link's Awakening, or the Oracle games. Overall, though, the horse riding mechanic in Twilight Princess makes rushing around the countryside astride your noble steed feel far less awkward than it did in Ocarina and Majora.

So-- Yeah.

TP for the win, I guess.

The first zelda I played was Legend of Zelda on the NES. I was so young at that time I had no idea and called it 'Robin Hood'

The game that made me into a gamer was Ocarina of Time

But my all-time favorite game (and thus also favorite Zelda) has to be Majora's Mask

There you go with your stupid intro

Ocarina of Time, definitely. It might not have been entirely unique in its plot elements and weapons, but it had enough variety to be both fun and different, and the plot was executed so well I didn't really care about any similarities to the other games. Honorable mention goes to Link's Awakening, which was the first one I played and is probably the most interesting in the series in terms of its storyline.

By the way, the other ones I've played were Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, the Oracle games, and Minish Cap.

I've played and beaten every Zelda game except the second, because I was like 7 when I got it and my hand-eye coordination wasn't good enough yet. Suffice to say I liked Twilight Princess, I liked Ocarina of Time also, but both had this annoying NPC sidekick who I want to shoot every time they opened their mouths. While they were helpful I still wanted to stab and gut both of them. Maybe eat them, I'm not sure depends on how they cooked. I'm not really sure which of those I liked the most though, maybe the minish cap for being so damned hard, I never die in Zelda games and that one killed me no less than 3 times, admittedly I had enough fairies but I've never used one before then. I think I will have to go with twilight princess.

Easily Majora's Mask. It probably has the best story of any game, even beating out one of my other favorites, MGS3. The first I'd played was OoT (beaten), then, realizing that Zelda is bloody awesome, I played the LttP (not beaten) remake, Four Swords (beaten multiple times with 4 people), Four Swords Adventures(about halfway), then finally Majora's Mask. It was, is, and always will be, my favorite game ever, the atmosphere was amazing, the combat was just as great as before, the masks were fun, and even though it's definantly one of the shortest Zelda games, I probably spent the most time with it. At the time of writing, my DS is broken, so I can't play PH, but I have played Wind Waker (not beaten) and the first two (both not beaten) on the collectors disc, and TP (beaten)

Twilight Princess because I felt the story was better executed and deeper then the rest, and the combat was greatly improved. The upgraded darknuts were amazing, and the final sword fight with Ganandorf was epic.

Ocarina of Time Master Quest.

I'm not going to sit here and tear the others apart, or repeat things about them that's already been said...

Duh, Ocarina of Time! I feel I must say that as a hardcore Zelda fan.
I've beaten it 15 times, beginning to end. I'm also making it a goal to beat it annually until I die.
BTW, I've beaten Majora's mask, The Legend of Zelda, Link's Adventure, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and Twilight Princess.
So yes, I know what I'm talking about.
I feel I am a hardcore Zelda fan cuz I own a real-life Master Sword and Hylian Shield.

As a final note, Ocarina of Time was officially declared the best game ever.
Everyone here should recognize that, step forward, and announce it truly is the best game ever.

Sorry, pimp-link doesn't suit me.

I prefer something in a mildly interesting to other women while having a clear and immediate love interest. :3

I... I can't choose. I can only say that I didn't like Majora's Mask and Link's Quest is too hard. I love the rest.

with what fancy conditions have you played it through? like the standard "only 3 hearts, no dies"? ^^

and I'm glad there's at least ocarina of time that keeps GTAVI from getting that top spot at metacritics/gamerankings

Ocarina of Time all of the way.
It was the first one I played (heck it was the first game I played on my N64) and it's still my favourite.
I have to say though that Twilight Princess almost beat Ocarina of Time.

It seems that a lot of people have either said OoT or TP, and they are both the most revolutionary and epic in terms of being visually different and a spectacle to look at, let alone play.
Maybe awe-inspiring graphics are what sells a game after all.

Sometimes its hard to decide because certain games had limitations based on the system they were for (Gameboy vs Gamecube) but i think it can be said that anything with the name Zelda in it is worth my hard earned money.

The first one on the NES. I remember polishing my gold cartridge when I was a kid. What a tosser.

I have enjoyed every iteration since. Yeah they are all pretty much the same, but it's like chocolate ice cream; if you give it to me nonstop I will keep eating it and loving it.

Ocarina of Time was the first one to blow me away. My favourite one is Wind Waker though, which I honestly feel is the most beautifully crafted out of all of them.
