Cyclone trap, and electrobolt, research camera, and chemical thrower. That's all I ever realy needed, with occassional crossbow trap bolts for big daddy hunting.
I liked the bees plasmid, even though it was fairly useless. That and the machine gun. Fire/ice/lightning was a little too DnD for me.
the only plasmid i really ever use is telekinesis, its it uses the least amount of mana )0.o sorry, eve, and does hella damage. the only time i use anything else is when there are no stray cigarettes or stuffed bears to throw at people. i liked freeze too, but that way you cant loot their bodies, plus i always wished you could freeze people, then melt them to a puddle wait till another baddy runs into the puddle of liquid dead bad guy, and electrocute him in it. downloadable content perhaps?
weapons, the crossbow had style, but didn't do enough damage, and felt really slow and awkward. i mostly just use the shotgun. chemical thrower is useless, it doesn't let you do anything you can't do with a plasmid, pistol is too weak and only has 6 shots before taking forever to reload like everything else, but i guess that is realistic. machine gun is good for taking out bots when you trip the security alarm, and there is nothing like taking down a big daddy using nothing but a wrench. great game that i still play. there is my little rant.

I used to (when playing on easy) brain splicers with their own masks using telekinesis. That's a new kinda satisfying.
i too would have to say winter blast. being able to trap a big daddy and then unload a shotgun on him without him knowing is the best.
Crossbow + Telekinesis. Shoot bolt. Pull out. Stick back in. Repeat until funny.

The telekinesis plasmid I found to be the one I used the most. Incinerate was also very handy until I picked up the chemical thrower.

I know it's boring but electro shock and a shotgun blast to the face always puts a smile on mine. It is just so fun seeing all of that fake jelly like blood flying everywhere.
I used the big daddy plasmid a lot. Wandering around with two of them next to me made me feel like the mighiest badass in Rapture. Telekinesis and Ice were also very useful. I didn't use the normal weapons that much actually but if I did, I usually choose the modded Tommy Gun.
