It regularly changes. At the moment, I'd say The Forever War by Joe Haldemann. Brilliant novel, with great points about everything, in a gritty, hard sci-fi setting.

I sort of get fixated on certain authors for a while. My most recent fixations have been Maria Snyder, author of the Poison Study trilogy; and Dawn Cook, author of the Truth quartet. I'm working on the Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan now. It's a bit more juvenile, but I saw the movie and I just love the characters :D

I think the longest fixation I ever had was in high school, and the author was Tamora Pierce. I tore through three quartets of hers within the same school year. There was the Song of the Lioness, the Immortals series, and Protector of the Small. I also read Trickster's Choice, but I haven't gotten around to reading its sequel yet.

Oh, this is easy!

Terry Pratchett, and particularly his Discworld series. The comedy and satire is amazing.

Honestly, go read them now.

I have read and enjoyed lots of James Herbert and an Italian called Valerio Massimo Manfredi. I would especially reccomend The Rats trilogy (The Rats, Lair, Domain) as well as The Fog and The Dark by Herbert and Spartan and the Alexander the Great Trilogy by Manfredi.

My favourite novel was written by my favourite author:

Jurassic Park by the late, great Michael Crichton.

The man was a genius. He was a master of the techno-thriller and excelled at almost everything he did. Not only was he a famous author, he was also a director (Westworld, Coma, The First Great Train Robbery), a screenwriter (Twister, ER), and a doctor. Hell, even when he was off his game (Pirate Latitudes), he was still better than most everyone else.
