I adore the Dresden Files. My money can't keep up with how quickly I'm burning through the series.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I haven't read that many classics but that book clears anything I've read before.

You don't really hear about books on the Escapist (except Twilight hate, which is perfectly reasonable) so what are you faves? For me it's anything by Darren Shan and the Harry Potter books.

Edit: Also, has anyone read Mogworld, Yahtzee's book. I got it off of Amazon. It's really funny, especially if you know a lot about games.

I've read Mogworld as well and I have to agree with you. Mostly I'm a fan of Kelley Armstrong novels.

In no particular order:

- The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (It has got some very deep flaws, but I still think it's good)
- A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R Martin (A modern classic, if you ask me)
- När änglar dör*, by Andreas Roman (Pretty much his only good book, but it's one hell of a book)
- The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan (It was the first fantasy story with a strong female lead I ever read. Naturally I've read more like that later, but since it was my first it's got a special place in my heart)
- Kingmaker, Kingbreaker by Karen Miller (A story about class-differences and how to overcome them, which, as a socialist, is topic very close to my heart)
- I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson (Sometimes pitiful, sometimes hilarious)

Naturally there are more, but these are some of the best that I've got in my bookshelf.

Wuthering Heights is by far my favourite book, everything about it is just flawless. For more modern stuff Kim Harrison's Hollows series is another favourite, and the Milennium trilogy.

I'm a fan of The Black Prism. Great book. I also love the Night Angel trilogy by the same author.

Two different sets of books battle for my 1# personal favorite. The Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook, or The Fall of the Malazan Empire series by Steven Erikson. Both are incredible tales, and while the black company series takes a more personal focus upon a group of mercenaries, with the malazan empire, you witness a historians view of this empire fall, while its happening. You following fighting across multiple continents, intrigue of multiple empires/political groups.

Series-Wheel of Time.
Stand alone novel-Frankenstein
The WoT books are worth it for Mat Cauthon alone.

Mat is an amazing character, but honestly my favorite character from any book is Min, from wheel of time.

The Wheel of Time. I have read a lot of books, but Wheel
of Time outshines the rest so much that they barely feel worth mentioning.

If wheel of time is that high on your list, I stongly suggest "Sword of Truth" series, by Terry goodkind. They have a similar flavor but I feel that SoT is significantly better.

To Kill A Mockingbird, Moving Pictures, Reaper Man, The Passage, Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, and The Goblet of Fire, I really have no idea what else. I've read quite a lot.
I really want to read Tina Fey's book. I know it's not the best ever, but I just remembered I wanted to read it that's all. I read some of it, it's soooo funny.

Cormac Mccarthy's The Road, a beautiful book that tore my heart out. A song of ice and fire, a awesome fantasy series top of the class. I am a Christian so I am obligated to mention the Bible.

Most books by Stephen King, I'm not a big reader, but if I play, watch or otherwise enjoy/find interesting I will probably read it. Se7en made me read Divine Comedy and LoTR made me read the entire work relating to the LoTR universe by Tolkien.

And almost every book written by Wilbur Smith, I'd really recommend reading those if you are into reading and haven't read them yet.

I really liked the first books, and the last books were okay, but Naked Empire and The Pillars of Creation were imo so bad that I simply can't put the series as my favorite, as well as almost making me stop reading the series (though I'm very glad I got through them and got to read the ending-trilogy) but it's definitely second after Wheel of Time, though with a huge margin (The only book I didn't really like in the series was Crossroads of Twilight, and then only because it revolved around my least favorite characters, but it was still an enjoyable book). I do sincerely hope the next part of Sword of Truth will be good, and I'm definitely trying to stay hopeful about it.
