Now nobody enjoys a thread as much as I do. Apart from my partner, people that post more than me and the Turbine enthusiasts. Come to think of it, lots of people enjoy these threads more than I do. But What I want to know is what is your favourite comedy sketch? It doesn't have to be by a stand up comedian rather a film you liked or a passage in a book.

EDIT: Couldn't find this on the forums so apologise if it has been done before. For the record my favourite sketch isn't from one of my favourite programmes although the Fast Show did have its moments.

I just loved the whole thing, especially the Don Knotts at the end.

Anything really from the Upright Citizens Brigade. Perhaps the best was the "titular line" sketch.

Not sure if this will be funny to anyone else, ha, but here is a bit of it. It was on early Comedy Central (when Comedy Central was actually funny) and they also do improv comedy in New York.

Well, here is a lil clip:

EDIT: The "poo stick" was from earlier in the episode, it was suppose to replace firearms as a means for self-defense. Or even the garbage one, it certainly is a certain kind of humor, but I love it.

Garbage clip:

Monty Pythons Flying Circus: The Dead Parrot Sketch.
this parrot is no more, it has ceased to be, its expired and gone to meet its maker, its a stiff, bereft of life it rests in peace if you hadent nailed it to the perch itd be pushing up the dasies, its rung down the curtian and joined the choir invisible. THIS is an EX-parrot.

gotta love the dead parrot sketch but my favorite has to be "how not to be seen". also worth mentioning are the dirty hungarian phrasebook, nudge nudge wink wink, the spanish inquisition and of course:

egg and bacon, egg sausage and bacon, egg and spam, egg bacon and spam, egg bacon sausage and spam, spam egg sausage and spam, spam spam egg and spam, spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam and spam, and i can never remember the rest.

sorry, i had to.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

the dead parrot sketch never was, and never will be funny. all it is is John Cleese shouting in a funny accent for about 5 minutes, and flailing a stuffed aumal around. the subject matter isn't good either. i don't have anything against it, it's just not funny. it's purile and childish. why it's been named as one of their greatest sketches ever escapes me. only one person i know ever enjoyed it (but he's 19 and still LOVES pokemon, and Sonic the Hedgehog, so he's discounted)

I've already told you once, you'll have to pay for me to keep arguing.

And, on a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation, admit the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for what is good and pure and get smashed for under a fiver, who will save us? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM3mmNwhT9A]

not forgetting them, just didnt mention them. there are at least a hundred flying circus clips that should be mentioned, just not gonna mention them all, i just picked a few. things like the argument clinic sketch, the fish slapping dance, any number of terry gilliums animated sketches (conrad poohs and his dancing teeth for example). gotta love monty python.

also, not really talking about monty python here but weekend update from snl. "This just in, Generalissmo Fransisco Franco is still dead."

also
<---------- from mad tv/mad magazine.

Not so much favourite sketch as I'm an indecisive wench and couldn't think of one definitive favourite but I love Big Train and That Mitchell and Webb Look, both are UK shows and both have sketches on Youtube if anyone wants to check them out. Anyone who likes Simon Pegg should especially look up Big Train as he was in that a lot
