Bioware is becoming a fast favorite developer of mine with amazing stories and stunning texture artists (even if their models arn't always perfect).

Valve have yet to make a game I've disapproved of and Bethesda gave me both Morrowind and Oblivion, which I've spent... "several" hours playing.

On the opposite end of the scale, CapCom is my least favorite developer, despite being relativly popular. They have poor story, terrible gameplay, appaling graphics, shocking writing and unlikable characters. I've yet to find a single thing to like or even a single moment of fun while playing a CapCom game, with the possible exception of Steel Battalion because the controler was bigger than me. But it cost me £60 so I still hate the bloody thing.

Because some developers need to get at least one vote in these sorts of threads, I nominate Paradox Interactive/Johan Andersson, TaleWorlds/Armagan Yavuz, the Creative Assembly, and (OK, they don't need me to have at least a vote) Bethesda Game Studios/Todd Howard/Pete Hines.

Bungie because they don't take themselves seriously.
Bioware because they DO take themselves seriously, but only when they have to.
VALVe because they care. Also they listen to the community and if the community are being idiots they aren't afraid to say so.
Stardock because they actively talk against DRM and are pretty awesome.
