Supes has been around for a long long while and in that time he's had many times when he has gone evil, or he goes up against his doppelganger. Hell, Supes is so iconic that there've been entire comic lines built around a like-Superman-but-evil character.

So which is your favourite incarnation of the archetype? Do you like the DC Superman doppelgangers like Bizarro or Ultraman, or are you a fan of stuff outside of DC?

Meself, I love to hate The Plutonian (Irredeemable) and The Homelander (The Boys)

The Plutonian from Wiki
"The series follows the fall of the world's greatest superhero, the Plutonian, as he begins slaughtering the population of Earth. His former allies, the superhero group The Paradigm, attempt to find a way to stop his rampage while dealing with their own problems of betrayal and hopelessness."

The Homelander from Comic Vine
"Leader of The Seven. He has powers similar to Superman and an image like Captain America - however, in truth, he's an amoral jerk and sexual predator."

As much as I love Supes and most of the DC roster of heros, I have to admit that after reading the two aforementioned, it made the very idea of Superman terrifying.

I kind of like Nova, or whatever the 'HOLY SHIT HE'S A GOD, A CRAZY GOD' from the Marvel comics.

I also liked how, for the Marvel: Zombies, they all but said it was a 'Superman' that was patient zero.

I think the Plutonian is a really good character. Though, he's the only evil Superman type character I can think off of the top of my head.

Omni-man from Invincible (and his race in general) are pretty great example of this. But now they're less evil.

I think you mean the Sentry. Nova is awesome and not evil.

Well, honestly I think my favourite "evil" Superman is the one from Superman: Red Son.

He's not evil, per se. The hook here is that instead of landing in Kansas, he landed in Soviet Russia during the Cold War. Thoughout it he's never shown as outright evil, just rather that he's taking the concept of communism to a logical extreme of someone with that type of power. Granted this did lead to brainwashing of many and a totalitarian government where order was demanded above all else but he was still less evil than Stalin. At least in terms of the amount of people that died under his regime.

To be honest, I always did find Bizarro's antics hilarious. I think an absurd comic line where he's the hero who screws up and has to fix stuff he messed up is a good idea.

But then, The Tick already exists, so...

Did you see that DC Nation short where Bizarro takes over Superman's duties? At one point he thinks that Superman would throw the villain into the sun, so he should throw the sun into the villain. Turns out that grabbing the sun is kind of hard.

I did not. Not actually much of a comic book collector, truth be told.
