The best five films I've seen in the last year:

Letters from Iwo Jima
Encounters at the End of the World
Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead
Okuribito (Departures)
Bridge to Terabithia (haven't read the book, but I believe the film was crap compared to it. I loved it though)

Which version though?

On topic: For me it's a pretty close tie between Batman Begins and Raiders of the Lost Ark. They're both great films.

Mine is Treasure Planet. It's a film I've loved for years and can watch many times without getting sick of it. I love the blends of animation, the relationships between the characters and the music is awesome too.
It's not my favorite movie ever, but in my opinion it's definitely among the top 5 of Disney, and I agree on everything you say here - it's a lot of fun.

It's difficult to pick out my favorite movie among all the great ones out there, but the one I keep coming back to is 'Gone in 60 seconds'. So much coolness...

The original Star Wars trilogy, obviously. Best movies ever.

Up there also are Equilibrium, Casablanca, The Matrix, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (subtitled: the English dub translation is so screwed up), Up, Cars, Monsters Inc., District 9, I Robot, Hot Fuzz, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Slumdog Millionaire, Aliens, Terminator 2... I could go on.

And major props to the OP for mentioning Treasure Planet. That movie doesn't get enough love...

American Beauty. I <3 Kevin Spacey.
This is a great movie along with The Big Kahuna and Seven.

OP:Brazil, Watchmen, Australia, The Monty Python movies, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 300, The Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, The Dark Knight, and The Departed.

All awesome movies.

EDIT:Damn, I forgot Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

OMG Seven, probably my favorite film with Brad Pitt in it, but it also ahs Kevin Spacey which is why you mentioned it I bet. He is probably why I consider Superman Returns a good movie.

The Directors Cut, with the footage of the dancing girls in the hockey masks, slight effects updates and fixes, audio fixes, Deckards glowing eyes in that one scene, the ambiguous ending at the elevator and NO commentary.

Though I wish they left the "...six skin jobs escaped, one was killed and four escaped..." line that implied even more that Deckard was a replicant.

:)

So basically the main version on the BluRay that was released recently.

The Underworld series were probably my favourite.

But that's probably because Kate Beckinsale was in them and she is soooooo hot.

Survive style 5+

Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different
The Lord of the Ring-trilogy
Oh, and Dumbo. Watched it once or twice every day for about 1 year when I was around 5.

Yes, just like the Dark Knight, the villain was the best character and I couldn't give two shits about the hero.

Can't decide between these movies.
Little miss sunshine, Shaun of the dead, hot fuzz, pulp fiction, back to the future series, The Dark knight, the original Batman movie, Shawshank redemption,
(the list goes on).

Ah yes, I remember it now, it was released for American audiences as a sort of greatest hits of the British television series. OKay thanks for the help mate.
