No lame Indiana Jones jokes, okay?

Anyways, out of the games you can play over the internet (or buy over XBox Live/PSN), which did you like the best?

I liked Castle Crashers. Funny, surprisingly well-made, and the difficulty wasn't the usual "half past impossible" I expect from something originally made in Flash. I haven't tried Braid yet, however, so I might like that one better.

By the way, mention PA Adventures all you like, but Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness isn't really indie, they had a company do most of the work, although I believe Tycho wrote most (if not all) of the story and dialogue, and I know Gabe did a lot of art for the game.

Can't really decide out of Armageddon Empires and Mount and Blade. They are both well done and fun to play in their own ways.

An honorable mention also goes out to Depths of Peril, If only it had a multiplayer mode it would of been awesome. Its Diablo and WoW thrown together and then a ton other shit thrown on top. which to some would sound like the worst game ever, But I'm both a Diablo fan and Ex WoW player.

Kingdom of Loathing, although technically Asymmetric Publications is a company, a Limited Liability Corporation to be exact.

Uplink, Defcon and anything else made by Introversion software. http://www.introversion.co.uk/

Uplink's probably the tensest game I've ever played in my life, which is particularly impressive considering it looks like this:

Is N an indie game? It's pretty awesome. I've yet to play N+ though. :(
Not really much point after playing N, unless you really, really, really want new levels. Thousands of which can also be found online anyway. N is pure awesome.

Haven't played that many, but I remember an old one many years ago, called Liero. Finnish, and hilarious. Faster and more brutal than Worms, more or less. x)
Real-time and great fun.

Penny-Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode one.

Absolutely hilarious game, and I can't wait for the next installment.

I can't believe I forgot Kingdom of Loathing (we'll count that as indie, since the company makes no money and doesn't advertise). And Portal can't possibly count, it was made by Valve, who, as we all know, could buy Switzerland with all their Half-Life 2 money. Instead, they spent it on The Orange Box and are holding out to buy all of Europe at once.

Uplink is sitting on my Pile of Shame, right next to Darwinia, also from Introversion Software.

Knytt is an absolutely wonderful indie platformer. It's cute, atmospheric, evocative, and takes about an hour or two to complete.
And it's free.
Why are you still reading this?

Actually, I was looking forward to a more advanced (And easier to use) level editor. But levels are nice too. And the ability to take it with me on my DS is ftw.

I'm not sure if it would be considered "indie," but Powder is an excellent free game. Also, it is portable to the DS as well, so you might want to check it out.

Edit: Forgot the link.

Final Fantasy 1 for the NES :p
Wasn't Square sfot/enix already a company? I guess it counts if that was their first entry, as long as they had no parent company.

1. Defcon - Clever little Strategy Game
2. Braid - Is that still Indie?
3. Aquaria - Castlevania + Ecco the Dolphin = Awesome

Also a honorable mention to Ragdoll Masters
