A good clean headshot or knife in the back is always a good kill. \i don't care how I die (except if it's by an M16 whore in CoD4)

i think everyone agrees when i say that headshots are the best way to show off skills, get your opponents frustrated and are very very veeerrrryyyy amusing
I'll confess, there's a secret compartment in my heart reserved exclusively for using a sniper rifle and a few noggins. Barring that, I recall Goldeneye 64 and the grenade launcher. Nothing was as gratifying as being whipped by a controller for killing by bouncing a grenade of the ceiling, to the wall and down the intersecting hall.
I'd say it would be the two extremities when it comes to their awareness of their impending doom. This means that either they knew it was coming and felt completely powerless to stop it, or when they suddenly die in a very shocking way.
From surprising them with a shotgun at point-blank, to seeing their doomed faces as you drop a rather large explosive/vehicle/object on their head.
Personally, I do love the 'hidden explosives' trick. You hide a C4 charge or something on the opposite side of a doorframe, and detonate it once they've walked right past.

Any fatality from Mortal Kombat. Those things have been milestones in game companies' decisions to include gore. Thank you Mortal Kombat. Without you we may never have had games like Resident Evil 4, Half Life (I know its not THAT gory), or even *inhales* GRAND THEFT AUTO. Thank you MK. Thank you.
I like stealth killing in Oblivion with Realistic physics set to high. There was this bridge with a bunch of Goblins on it, and I was hiding in the treeline so that I was perpindicular to the bridge. I slapped on a chameleon spell and then stealth killed each and every goblin with my bow, whenever one got hit it fell over the side of the bridge and fell into the gorge, all the other goblins just looked at the spot the other guy was in confusion.
In CoD4, any kill where I know the killcam will make the guy I killed go "WHAT THE @$%#&!?" In other words, random lucky kills that I know I won't be able to repeat.
