Just wondering what everyones favourite metroid game was. Mines super metroid on the SNES, purely because it was on a full size screen (e.g. not on a handheld) and wasn't 3D.
Also the playing time was a lot longer than most of the other games.

Im not a big fan of the prime games but if you are fair enough, just tell me why.

Metroid Prime Hunters. Incidentally, that's the ONLY Metroid game I thought was good.

Also, please, PLEASE, TRY to use capital letters.

Metroid Prime.

I was too little to really get the SNES games, but Prime really stuck with me for being such a unique take on the fps. Plus it has some of my favourite bosses ever in Meta Ridley, Thardus and the Omega Pirate. I also really, really liked the way it didn't spoon feed all the solutions and exploration.

Metroid Fusion.

Doesn't have the clunkyness of the previous metroid games, and Prime's tend to be frustratingly difficult, and I get lost in them. (I absolutely LOATHE using maps >;/ )

Fusion is my second favourite for the same reason. It was so much clearer and easier to understand than the primes. I didn't like the primes very much, Not because of the difficulty, but the fact that i was constantly lost and the maps were useless.

I like Metroid Zero Mission the most. It took everything that was good about the 2D Metroids and removed the annoying lack of direction in previous titles. It's only about 3 hours long, but it's a pretty fun-filled 3 hours.

Replace "Primes" with Super Metroid and you'll get a statement that fits my opinion.

Weird; that's the only one I didn't think was good. I take it you like the shooter elements more than the Zelda elements. To each his own, I guess.

Same here, kinda. I was only born in 1993, but that's no excuse for waiting until 2007 to try a Metroid game. In any case, my first was Prime. I loved it, and it's still my favorite game, period. Not that Super Metroid isn't great as well.

Prime 3 for me. I got too lost trying to play Metroid 1, I played Fusion, and I've played all the Prime games. Prime 3 is definitely my favorite.

Metroid Prime I'd say. Metroid Zero Mission is pretty close... and I haven't playet Super Metroid as of yet, so I might change my mind.

I'll probably be the odd man out for loving Prime 2: Echos, the atmosphere, the lore, the action. It was all pulled of wonderfully except for a few bosses(they know who they are).

Either Super Metroid or Zero Mission. (I'm relatively sure Zero Mission is a remake but meh).

Super Metroid, and I've played all of them except Zero Mission and Hunters. Loved the Primes, but much like Yahtzee is forever saying of the Prince of Persia trilogy each one had its own unique flaws that stopped it just short of perfection. My only beef with Super Metroid was it wasn't long or challenging enough. Of course, some resourceful fellows have endeavored to fix that...

Actually, the reason I liked it was because it was one of the few DS shooters that actually controls well, looks/sounds great and doesn't drag on. Also, I am not a fan of the Zelda elements to be honest.

Metroid Prime. Partly because it's a really interesting take on the FPS, but also because I haven't played any others...*hides*

My favourite too. You meet no characters, you have no backup. You simply left on a hostile world full of dangerous wildlife to fend for yourself. It was challenging, graphically impressive and very engrossing. My favourite thing was the scanner. I spent most of my time in the game databasing all the nasty monters I found.

Also this is the prime game where phazon was actually a threat. The only other prime game I played was corruption where you practically rub phazon all over your face with no ill effects.

It is a remake. It's a retelling of the first Metroid game, but way better.

Zero Mission or Super Metroid. I'm a sucker for the 2-D ones. But I still count Metroid Prime as one of the best shooters of all time.
