Simply put, what is your favourite movie ever? Mines is Forrest Gump. "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never no what you're gonna get". Just the best movie line ever. It's got such a great story and Forrest is such a great character. Oh yeah, I'm probably going to comment on most of your choices but in a good way.

FightClub!

Unoriginal of me, i know.

But im not gonna try and be edgy and cool by saying '9 songs' or something.

Probably Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead. I can keep watching those for ages.
Maybe Gladiator or Fight Club, with The Butterfly Effect as a runner up.

And I don't understand the line "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" because, firstly, you're going to get chocolates; and secondly there's usually a description on the box or the little menu inside. That quote makes no sense at all.

I don't know about ever but for me a personal favourite has to be The Black Balloon. It's an Australian independant film about a teenage boy and his autistic brother trying to function in the real world while developing an attraction to a girl.
It's a brilliant work and honestly you owe it to yourselves to give it a shot.

Ever? Well, I've never been a fan of Batman in general, but the Dark Knight was one kickass movie, so I'll vote for that.

Then again, I've not yet seen Avatar.

My favourits are The Dark Knight, Casino Royale, QoS, The Matrix, Dodgeball ("Dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball!"), Star Wars: RoTS (you read that right), LoTR trilogy and some other stuff which I can't remember.

Not particularly original, but at least I'm not pretentious about what I like.

Oh, and Shrek!

I'm assuming you've never seen Forrest Gump cause he's a retard. I realize that It doesn't make sense but It's still agreat line.

Avatar is nowere near as good as the Dark Night. Avatar is amazing to warch but It's just not as good as the Dark Night. And am I the only one who thinks that the Dark Night is the most violent 12a ever. I've seen 15's that weren't as violent as that.

I have seen it and every time I point out it makes no sense. He says his mum told it to him, well surely she's never seen a box of chocolates. The fact he's, as you say, a "retard" makes no difference to me.

It should've been a 15, that bit where the dead fake batman falls down made me shit myself. I saw kids of about 12 watching it in the cinema and they were terrified. If people make a superhero movie they need to be unafraid to make it a 15, despite the fact they'd lose the early teen audience who have never actually read one of the comics and know the character by reputation alone.

Ignore the pre-pubescent audience!

But Avatar is beautiful to watch, storyline's lacking but in 3D it's beautiful.

...You want me to pick out the best movie.

Of all time.

OK, I can't do that, so I'll just give props to District 9 for being the movie of the year.

300, Sin City, I am Legend, Matrix (only the first one), all of LOTR (would have been terrible without the music though)

Watch all 3 extended editions back to back. It defines epic.
The only problem is it's close to 12 hours at once. My brain nearly melted when I tried.

There can be no favourite movie in my head, the same way there is no favourite song.

Monsters Inc. I will nominate because it was brilliant, but so was Finding Nemo.
In terms of mindless action, Blade II or Death Race.
In terms of philosophical merit, The Matrix.
