i think arcticuno.
i also spend ages in the safari zone going after scyther.
and the pokemon i completely trusted with killing(fainting) all my enemies and the first to reach lvl 100 alakazam.

A close contenter is Cubone. I'm more a fan of the basic forms than evolved pokemon. Though Pidgeot also holds a special place in my heart.

Slowpoke,he evolves by getting his tail bitten by another pokemon and they both fuse into another pokemon. Take that evolution. Also he can become smarter by being bitten on the head.

Tied between Haunter, because the coolest looking ghost ever, and Alakazam, for being the most kickass Pokemon ever (spoons are just awesome; the Tick must me a fan of his). Magneton and Venasaur are tied in second.
I only played the red or blue one when they were totally in, when I was eleven.
I liked psyduck and that one with the skullhat. I don't think they were any good, but they were badass. Skulls were cool back in '99, and so were platyp..i(?). Platypuses(?) are cool even today, though.
I grew out of that when I turned twelve though. I didn't know they made any more of them. Thought they were just a fad. I guess I was wrong.

Well, for me it has to be Nidoqueen. It single-handedly beat the elite 4 (5?) with mega kicks XD
