What's your favourite sitcom? I think mine's probably a toss-up between "Friends" and "Scrubs", although "Friends" probably edges out as my all-time favourite, perhaps mainly due to nostalgia. But other than that, all of the main characters are easily relatable and likeable, each having their own sympathetic flaws to balance out their unique and charming characteristics.

Both shows also have intelligent and well-timed humour, as well as "Scrubs" giving a mostly realistic analysis of work in medicine. And at the end of it, you really feel like you've been a part of this vast world and its storylines.

Community. Can I say Community? Is it a sitcom or just pure awesomeness? Either way. Community.

Yeah, I've been hearing about "Community", but it doesn't air on any of the channels my TV has. What's it about and where can I watch it online?

What qualifies as a sitcom?

1. The Office (BBC)
2. Arrested Development
3. Extras
4. Simpsons (90's)
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm
6. Community
7. Seinfeld

Of the lot, "Seinfeld" is the only one I've consistently heard referred to as a "Sitcom". It's almost a derogatory designation.

NBC or any station in any country that runs its programs (In Canada thats Citytv). Or online. Depending on where you come from Hulu has it and I believe Netflix (at least in North America) has the first season, I think the second one might be there now too. If you can't get either there is this website called tvblinx which links to places where a show is uploaded.

Why was Malcolm in the Middle mentioned only once? Seriously you guys, get a grip on yourselves.

So, yes - Malcolm in the Middle.

And Married With Children.

Everybody Loves Raymond is tedious boring and not entertaining, unless Frank shows up - he makes the episodes watchable. To a lesser extent Robert. So if they were the main characters, that would have been another one of my favourite sitcoms.

I dont like Everybody Loves Raymond either, but my beef is that it's always night time. It's depressing.

Yea, I'd have to say Scrubs, though there are other decent ones out there. Don't watch too much TV, and scrubs is the only one I'd sit down to watch intentionally, rather than just stopping on it while flicking through channels.

Hmm...I'll have to check it out sometime.

Oh shit, I almost forgot to mention "The Inbetweeners"! Actually, that's probably tied with "Friends" and "Scrubs" for my favourite sitcom now.

Red Dwarf. Technically it's a sci-fi sitcom, so technically it counts, right? :')
You are a legend. You're the only other person I've seen on this site that's ever mentioned Red Dwarf.

OT:

- Red Dwarf
- Scrubs
- Friends
- Still Game

Is 30 rock a sitcom? Well its my favourite comedy show. I just love how the actors can speak so straight with all the things they say.

The Young Ones. Gotta be The Young Ones. Nothing has ever come as close to making me piss myself from laughter.
