Not sure on my favourite, but the minigun in TF2 is great fun (jumping out from behind a corner into an un-suspecting group of enemies = fun times!).

My favorite isn't from a game, it's the guitars in FLCL.

But if I had to choose, I'd say any assault rifle. full auto, 3-round burst, semi, no matter. they all work close range to long, and you can ALWAYS find ammo.

There is a laser shotgun. Two actually. Protectron's Gaze and the Metal Blaster. Both of these are awesome, but the Gauss Rifle from Fallout 3 is just pure win.

I stand corrected, I always thought of it as a bigger laser pistol but I guess it's a shotgun according to the wiki.

The peace maker in the jak games. Used in just the right way sends vechiles flying. I remember I would set off the peace maker and then get on a ship and it would send me flying right out of the game. Hilarious.
