Okay reading like 10 comments on the FBI tracking down Anon members has really made me fly off the handle of pissed. The people who are posting have no idea what the fuck they are talking about when they are saying that they should be tracking down actual murderers.
So I am going to rant here a bit so feel free to respond however.
Okay well first off there are a few things that they don't understand:
1) The ones tracking down Anon members are PAID to DO THAT. They are not paid to find murderers they specialize in computers so they are paid to stop shit like that from happening do they realize how many attacks they stop DAILY on GOVERNMENT SERVERS? I do not think so.
2) Anon has been stepping itself up from harmless pranks to actually going after government run and backed sites. Would they rather have them keep running amok on the internet or would you rather them not do a damn thing and then have them actually become something of a full fledged internet terrorist group rather than just a bunch of people with too much free time on their hands and having themselves sit on their own little high horse of anonymity? Because I certainly would not. I would rather not have everything I do on the internet possibly being tracked by some random shit with too much internet power because guess what back in 2008 Ukraine was ALMOST taken down by Russian Hackers who had hacked their Government Servers. Yeah if Anon is allowed to keep doing what it does shit will go down pretty quickly. In terms of age Anon is currently in its teenage years by attitude doing stupid shit but still being able to do bigger acts when they want to. I do not want them to be able to reach maturity because that is where it is going to get scary. If you take the thousands of Script-Kiddies that make up Anon give them enough time to get better band together and start doing ACTUAL attacks like they are starting to do it will possibly bring the internet as we know it down.
/rant

I know its probably a vocal minority that are probably sticking their foot in their mouth. Most terrorist groups start out doing small things to gain followers and power.

Yes I am calling Anon a terrorist group because a terrorist group incites terror which is what Anon is trying to do.

TL;DR
FBI has a branch paid to cyber crime. They caught people breaking the law. People bitched that they should be catching "actual" criminals when they are paid to catch cyber criminals.

So why ***** about someone doing their job? Its like me going somewhere and saying that you should stop trying to make a living because it doesn't do any real help to the world. Even if it is somewhat vital.

Why would these people, who spend so much time on the internet & around computers as to understand how to DDoS, want to bring down the internet?
Internet as we know it not internet as a whole. But pretty much my thought process goes towards ease of access gone only able to do things if you know what you are doing as to not let slip any information or allow access onto your computer that you do not want done. Pretty much making the internet like a crime ridden place seen in old movies about slums and projects

Dude what?
The internet does not work like that. They can temporarily shut down websites, & they can give you a virus/keylogger which can be removed without the internet.
You vastly underestimate people. I said that it COULD not that it WILL or it IS. It is also completely possible because if someone really cared they could make a program that could cripple the entire internet they just need time and a huge knowledge of computers and their coding.

I always found it funny when people say "shouldn't they be going after more dangerous people" when these guys hunting anon members are just doing what they're supposed to be doing.

Because people who bring down main government websites are totally harmless.

The actually internet is a series of switching/forwarding devices that are impossible to shut down digitally. They cannot be infected with viruses, they cannot be reprogrammed from the 'internet' side. You'd have better luck trying to shut down the Earth's rotation.

All you can really kill are servers, PCs, and routing devices. The internet is, in effect, immortal.

And no, it is impossible for one person, or even a thousand, to kill all the devices CONNECTED to the internet. One individual program that could kill any system would exceed the hard drive capacity of most of its individual targets.

Until you learn what the internet REALLY is, and not what CERN tells you it is, don't talk of such things. You sound ridiculous.

I don't really know a whole lot about Anon but it seems as if they went from Internet pranksters to a terrorist group. Not "blow up buildings" terrorist, but the "doing deeds to incite terror in a large group of people" terrorist.

While I don't begrudge the FBI people who tracked these people down, I can't help but feel that it's not the right thing to do. Lets face it, Anon is in no way a "terrorist group", they are a bunch of people who use a relatively simple to run program that sends a ton of information request to a website which overloads it temporarily. This has no lasting effects on the site and is instead an effective protest tool. I think it falls under freedom of speech, if money is a form of speech, this too is a form of speech.

That shit pisses me off.
Read my post I didn't jump from internet pranksters to full blown hackers. There are people within anon that are full blown hackers. Also making fun of someone like Jessie Slaughter is prankster going after entire sites is hacking and illegal.

What someone does is not freedom of speech what someone says is freedom of speech. There is a very fine line that divides actions from words because I could go and kill 20 people and say that I did it as a protest and that I am protected under freedom of speech which will not fly and I will go to jail for life.

Meh, mixed feelings about them.

Can't really say I feel sorry for some of their victims, especially in the Assange situation. On the other they clearly don't stand for free speech as they'd like to pretend. See the Gene Simmons attack.
