Hey guys I just today finished playing through Project Origin the other day after having read some online reviews that prompted me to give it a go. I was fairly enthusiastic after playing FEAR 1 because I honestly dig the whole supernatural theme. Overall I'd say it was a pretty cool game, although they did water down the horror too much for my taste. Anyways, I read a lot of negative criticism about the mech combat sequences Monolith put into the game and it being a lame uninspired attempt to include vehicle sections in the game, but after plating it I gotta say....what are these people whining about? I found it to be some of the most visceral, empowering and intense gameplay in the entire game, and honestly whished there had been more (perhaps more detailed) to go around.

Anyone else feel like Monolith did something right with the way this gameplay was presented and felt?

Cheers from Holland!

The mech sections weren't bad per se, there was a good deal of fun to be had stomping around being invincible (which the mech basically was, it could die but only if you were rubbish).

However, stomping around being invincible doesn't really carry a game far, so it's a good job the mech sections were short.

Hmm very true, but I would have liked to have like a big mech face off versus the Replicas at the end, instead of that stupid anticlimactic turret sequence.

You?

Nearly perfect sections, short, sweet, and always ending for logical reasons. No one would get out of the suit without good cause, you know?
