Alright! When are they going to highlight a group who has a fetish for feet?
When someone makes a group for people with fetishes for feet and make it notable?
Furry isn't necessarily a fetish, by the way.

O.T. Nice to see they got recognised for being a lovely place to go, even if it doesn't suite me all that well.

*EDIT* Cool, I just found my name in that collage. Didn't think I was notable enough to be on it, seeing has I'm not a regular and stopped visiting it ages ago.
Furry doesn't mean sexual deviant like many think it does, but how the hell is it not a fetish?
It's an art community revolving around anthropomorphic animals. For some people it's a fetish and for some people it isn't.

This should NOT be a Featured User Group.

Not that I'm bigoted against Furries or anything, but I wouldn't feature ANY sex fetish group, it would be equally weird to have "Foot Fetish Followers" or "Black Chicks Are Teh Hotz" or any similar group featured.

People are overcompensating for the hate Furries get, seriously, half these posts are like, CONGRATULATING them for being a Furry, nobody should be applauded for a sexual fetish, that's just fucked up.
So you revived a three-month-old thread just for a horribly misinformed hate post?
I am disappoint.
It's not a hate post, I made it very clear I would be equally weirded out if it was any other more mainstream fetish group.

Furry is an art style that they appreciate and have built a culture around it, they aren't necessarily turned on by it. The problem with Furry's is the massive amount of misinformation behind them, people are confused about what they are.

Does this mean next week it will be about a pedophile group?
Should make for interesting reading.
I'm... confused. The two are related how...?
Well if they are featuring groups for sexual deviants then its only fair to do a pedo one. Otherwise its just discrimination.
We aren't sexual deviants, for the most part, we're mostly people who enjoy excersizing our creativity and are enthralled by anothromoporphic creatures. Some of us may be, but that depends on your definition of the sexual norm.
That's fine, but do you really think you should be a featured group for your sexual fetish? It just seems weird to feature a sex fetish group
Its not a fetish.

As well, the group is a great community, accepting and trusting, most of us would gladly help the other member who're in need, hence why its been featured.

Just to make sure - we're talking normal furries right? Not like the furries that like it when animals bang? Because if so, I honestly give up on this site.
Truely, its a mix, some of the group do, but the majority are just the usual kind, those who enjoy anthro art.

I really can't see why people feel so threatened by furries (especially as they claim to be soft and cuddly).

Now, if there was an uproar about people spelling things with "eh" instead of "ie", that I could get behind.

What is and isn't a fetish is purely dependent on the individual. I would appreciate it if you respected that a bit more in this thread, as not everyone here treats it as a fetish, and even if they do there is nothing wrong with that. It's their choice on what they feel is a fetish or not. If you feel it is, that's fine. But respect that some others see furrehs and the art/depictions in a non sexual manner please. :)
I thought I made it abundantly clear that I don't think being a furry is wrong, I just think featuring it was a mistake since it is a rather mature topic to have featured on a major page.

Whether or not it means fetish for everyone, this is by far the majority definition of the term, do I think it's wrong that people are furries? No, but I also don't think it's any more appropriate to have featured than any other topic that is usually considered a sexual fetish.

In other words, I don't think furries should be discriminated against, but I don't think they deserve special treatment either, why do people find that so offensive?

If being a furry was a fetish then so would any sort of cosplay... Dressing up for cons and roleplaying. They're the exact same things, but we don't see cosplay as sexual fetishes even though with some of the costumes it could almost certainly be seen that way, so why should furry be any different? Most furries are for the art style and the role play. Sure there are those that like to do the sexual stuff as well, but I'll bet that you can find pictures of cosplayers doing sexual things too.

EDIT: Just want to add that there's people that get off to sexual activities with cheetos (yes, I'm serious) but just liking cheetos doesn't make you have a fetish for it.

Way to go you guys. Seriously, this is something that greatly impresses me, and I would debase myself for more people like you. So, once again, good job.

There was a furry group on here and I was not notified? *dashes over to group and joins*

Anyways, I want to give a little something:

Furry = A short term for anthropomorphic animals, also used as a term for a member of the furry fandom.

Furry fandom = A fandom for those with the affinity of anthropomorphic animals. Also very friendly and very family like.

Sorry for sounding stupid, obvious and whiny (And most of all like a dick), but seriously, the internet throws one insult and furries go into defensive mode faster than Yu-gi-oh cards in a 10-year old's "Epic battle of wits". Just stop defending yourself and start not caring. "If you become immune, you have no need to defend" - Pokemon logic. I don't mind furries, but just stop acting innocent and defensive and be normal, since you bloody are.

(also, anime FTW) (I'm not a mega-fan, I just agree that Yu-gi-oh died when Yugi left, and pokemon died when people started hacking, and Misty (Who was the only original female pokemon character) left the anime; Ash should get replaced, he's the one that sucks.)

EDIT: I'm pointing this out because they made a gaming group. Just join a group, if they kick you for being furry, shame on them.

(Shame gets you hit by trucks)

They're being defensive because furries are typically seen in a rather negative light. If my friend casually mentioned he was a furry because it was relevant to the conversation, people WILL react a certain way. Groups like this need to take at least some action to increase awareness and show other people that liking anthro is just another detail to add to your list of interests.

This is the society we live in

Well the way I see it, if one of my best friends admitted they were a furry (One of which is.), I wouldn't care. I mean. If you like someone, and you've known them for ages, and they finally tell you they're a furry, you shouldn't care. They're still the same person apart from they fap to anthro porn (No offense, just incase anyone finds that offensive(Now look who's being defensive. XD).). Either way, what they do in thier spare time is none of your business really. It's kinda just a thing where people are scared of what's unknown to them. 'Furism' is the internet's homophobia, people are prejudice against them, but does it really matter if they are? They're not hurting anyone just by being who they are.

[Note]: You know what, I remember when my friend told me they were a furry, I thought it was pretty cool. They're getting into art aswell, but I mean, what they do in their spare time doesn't bother me, they're a great friend, and that's all that counts.

(Protip): Research deeper into the furry community, most are great people to talk to. =3

[Edit]: Can I also point out, for the millionth time, that being a furry is NOT a sexual fetish. I know this full well, since my friend is a furry (as stated above).
